I had the same problem, cut off the rotten pods, throw em away, spray some anti fungal stuff all over the plants and it should be alright. No reason to kill the whole plant.

If you want a cheap pot ... buy the 90c 20liter buckets from Bunnings, and drill or knife a hole into the side of them ... make sure you get the dark grey/black ones. Not ideal but hey, 90c pots ... who can complain? Soil is expensive ... so ... get a dozen of those 90c buckets and a shovel and...

Good news and I really don't care anymore news :) My mum bought some capsicum plants from Bunnings and planted them near my chillis a few months ago, they had a kind of fungal rot on them and it spread to all my plants. Fun times! All my mature plants now have no pods but beautiful big green...

As long as the seeds are labelled their scientific name, then you can import them ... read up @ customs. Chilli seeds are allowed to be imported *the main varieties, like chinense, a few wild ones are not simply because customs have no data on them. Tomato seeds are not because of some virus...
