Storing a large harvest for future use

oook, so having a pressure caning attachment thing for a foodsaver is really just the same as using the bags but with jars then huh? and if I wanted to actually can them, I would need to go through the pickling processes by cooking/heating and all that stuff with the vinegar or pickling...

Storing a large harvest for future use

Those pressure caning things, I have a food saver thing for bags, and it has the attachments for cans, (w/o the actual attachment for the can, just the hoses and stuff) but do I need to heat them and everything for the can? or does the negative pressure in the can pretty much kill everything and...

pests The edema bug finally hit

yeah, I just think of humidity and bad air circulation kind of similar, at least in the way that bad air circulation will cause edema with lower humidity than it would otherwise, and I wasn't sure what kind of setup you had, I haven't looked at the glogs too much. but for a fan, the Lasko 18"...

pests The edema bug finally hit

I had to take my mom's tomato plants out of the grow tent because it was way to humid for them, if there is any water/moisture at all on the sides, then there is your problem, what is the humidity in there, and where did you measure it, because I thought mine was OK, and then I actually put one...

    Leaf problem, leave me alone!

yeah browning around the edges could be fert burn depending on what you put in the soil if anything or the type of soil.. but pics would help more than anything else.

    My nose is on fire...

misc What is the super hottest pepper with a very short production period?

that's what I'm thinking lol, well for now since these are my main set of plants I will just see what the change in my ferts will do since I just got in the Fox Farm Tiger bloom that is 2-8-4 (with the added 2-0-0 from Cal-Mag) will give it 4-8-4 and see if it boosts it, but, once I get those...

    when to transplant

check the roots.. if you can pull them out will all of the soil in tact and a nice tight rootball, then you can transplant, if there is soil falling apart and stuff like that.. then wait another 2 weeks or however much it needs.

MGOLD86's GLOG, of sorts. NEW Billy Boy Douglah Review!

yeah that's the issue I'm having, I love the mix I have now, but I think it is best for 1 gallon pots or larger, the party cups I have them in now are great, but the water runs through it crazy fast.. but then again, the soil is still moist, I might just have to water them every couple days...

misc What is the super hottest pepper with a very short production period?

ok cool, thank you! for the input, I figured as much, I was just surprised that one of the Bulgarian carrot plants had big green peppers on them for almost more than a month, and it's around 70-80 degrees in the tent and great light in there, and one of them has just started to get a lot of ripe...

MGOLD86's GLOG, of sorts. NEW Billy Boy Douglah Review!

after changing my mixes around alot, going from MG potting mix with about 50% perlite added, which drained well, but most of it was perlite.. so that kind of sucked, then perlite with MG potting mix and vermiculite "fine" which was heavy, and a bunch of others until I have started making my own...

    Transplant?

check the roots, but the ones in the top pic are fine, they could easily go longer in those cups, and once they are outside I would really pick those pods off and all the flowers to get them to grow roots... but me personally I like to pot up in smaller steps.. like I said check the roots and...

Storing a large harvest for future use

well for me (if you were directing that towards me that is, which my list is in my profile) that is what I plan on doing for a bunch of mine, well kind of speed-drying/smoking, but for the OP's purposes.. actually that should work for sauces too, would probably give a different viscosity to it...
