Welcome from New York, good luck on your grow this season! On the topic of posting pics, you'll need to use a site like photobucket and use the image links there to post a picture. (Sorry for the vague information, I'm bad at explaining things haha)
I strictly only use SS and cast iron for any type of cooking, I love the cast Dutch ovens I just tend to use SS for acidic things because of iron leaching.
I just invested in a whole stainless cook ware set about a year ago and I have to say it was worth every penny. Don't go for the cheapest one like Joyner stated, and make sure you get tri-ply preferably with aluminum core. The one down side I learned the hard way was not to salt water without...
First off welcome! And there is a ton of information to absorb on this site from the many master pepper growers! Second your plants look healthy to me, those deformed leaves just look like they were damaged when they were smaller (probably from aphids) and grew after the fact. Doesn't look like...
Nope they all were first year plants, I started them pretty early. By the time they were able to be outside during the days they already had loads of flowers opening. I was able to bring them inside during the cold nights.
That sounds good! I made an un fermented habanero sauce a few years back and used pineapple it was really good, it was amazing on quesadillas, and shrimp. I'll probably be enjoying this sauce among others when fall hits.
You should be fine I started late December got them out full time at the end of May, I'm only harvesting now because I started so early and had room to get the plants up to flowering/ podding. When it's warm and humid the plants will blow up.
I might try for longer than 30 days then, 3/4 of a pineapple and it was pretty ripe. Might just try my next one without fruits and just do peppers onion and garlic.
I wish I could keep myself away from it for 60 days or longer, but I'm already finding myself looking at it every chance I get. I do have a sauce I made but it isn't fermented. I might start another ferment today if I have the time, so hopefully one will be able to sit longer.
I'm thankful I haven't had to deal with those as of yet, but I am fighting slugs who have devoured a dozen of my reaper pods! Good luck on the war on hornworms!
I had seeds I harvested from a red bhut last year that ended up crossing with a fatali. They are yellow and look very close to fatalis but quite a bit hotter and more oil.
Another small harvest still about a dozen or so half ripe Bhuts on the plants, still a ton of green butch T's starting to turn.
Edit: decided it was a good idea to eat that bigger butch T, bad idea haha :onfire:
