2016 Hungarian Pumpkin GLOG by Jalabenjo

UPDATE TIME!    I'll start with the peppers which have finally started growing. The top two are the Hungarian Pumpkins, and the bottom one is my whole grow.   As you can see the grow room has really been filled out. I may have started things a little too early, but the warm spring had...

noob, pepper not looking so great

Overwatering is definitely a possibility. Take a look at some of those lower leaves though; they seem to be yellowing a little. If you can, post water and fertilizing schedule/information.

2016 Hungarian Pumpkin GLOG by Jalabenjo

Alright time for an update wooooo hooooo! I think from now on this is just a plain old GLOG not a species specific one.   Part 1 (Growbox) So I decided to build myself a growbox for starting seeds because the setup I've got in my basement is too cold.       Basically it's just a three level...

    C. anuum or C. frutescens

Looks like a "Fresno" to me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresno_pepper The heat level Wikipedia gives it, and my own experience with them puts at a level a little higher than jalapeno.

    Pepper ID please

It looks to me like the black pearls I grew this year. Black pearls are supposed to have black leaves, but mine had green ones like yours. Here's a pic I found (not mine).

2016 Hungarian Pumpkin GLOG by Jalabenjo

UPDATE TIME!   Not very much growth, to be honest I'm quite disappointed. I believe my problem was my bulb hanging too low over my plants. I've raised the light up to about 6 feet over the plants, and reduced the power to 50% (600 watt bulb) to give the seedlings some time to recover. The...

a few questions from a noob!

If by "blend" you're referring to Masterblend, then no, Masterblend is a water soluble fertilizer. You should transplant your seedlings into potting soil. Most people around here seem to like Pro Mix soil but thats pricey and kinda hard to find in some areas. I've used Fafard's professional mix...

A big that you to stoney's_ghost for sending me the seeds for these peppers free of charge! I'm grateful, and exited to see how they grow.   All I have for today is a picture of one of my two sprouts. This is my first time doing a glog so I don't know if I should have waited longer and...

Hey! It's been a while since my last post mostly because I haven't had any problems. Now however I need a little advice. I'll start by giving a little timeline. The plants that i'm worried about were started around July 14th. My plan was to grow them through the summer and then take them inside...

    LED Driver Question

I've been looking around at LED drivers on ebay, and most if not all of them say the voltage is x-y (24-32 for example). I was curious as to what this means, can anyone explain it for me?

New to growing peppers - got some problems

There's not a huge amount of micro in MaxiBloom as you can see here http://generalhydroponics.com/site/gh/docs/prod_labels/maxigro.pdf . I'm no expert but from what i've heard you need some trace elements in hydro for the plants to thrive.

    Hydroponic Bay Laurel

Ok, so here's a question: Can bay laurels be grown in a hydroponics system? In my area they need to be overwintered indoors, and i've got a 5 gallon dwc bucket i could put it in. Theoretically if i were to do this it would be grown under a 600 watt metal halide alongside 3 other buckets.

another new grow box build different person lol

If you can afford the upfront cost T5s or even better T5HOs (High Output) then go with those. T5s will be: compact, energy efficient, and bright. T12s aren't very bright, inefficient, and large so stay away. As for T8s they are cheaper and fine for seedlings but won't let larger plants thrive...
