    Shishito peppers all the rage

Probably not.   To me the mild ones are like thin bell peppers but very slightly sweeter.   We grew 3 frying peppers pictured below.  The Shishito you recognise.  The top one is a Jimmy Nardello and on the right is a Friarlello.  All 3 are frying peppers and are fairly tasteless unless fried...

    Shishito peppers all the rage

Brutaldiver, I will try to explain it in more detail.   I have 2 Shishito pepper plants that have been producing peppers for some time now and I have eaten many pods off both plants. Both were from the same seed packet. One plant consistantly makes peppers that are more normal in that about 1...

chinense The best tasting non-hot C.chinense ever - The Aji jobito

If I do get some of these, I am going to cross them with yellow Habaneros next year, then plant the seeds from the mildest fruit till I get just the right amount of heat, maybe around Jalapeno hot for me.   I want to use the jobitos as those who have tried them say they have great flavor. ...

    Shishito peppers all the rage

Been eating them for awhile, this was the latest batch we picked. I put them in the wok with butter ghee till just right, then put one tbs of dark soy sauce in for one min, then salt.   They lose most of the hot when cooked though.   Very good.    Steven

    Shishito peppers all the rage

I grew 2 Shishitos, both in pots this year. One is more or less normal except that the peppers are a bit small (from pictures I've seen) and one in ten are hot.  The other one (both from the same seed packet) is in a bit smaller pot (6") and the pods are a bit smaller, but the weird thing is...

Cannot find this pepper anywhere on the internet

Helvete, I looked around  to see if I could find any pepper of the Frutescens that looked like these and found that they look quite a bit like the short yellow tobasco.   links below   http://www.semillas.de/cgi-bin/shop_en/shop.cgi?shop=&keywords=Capsicum%20frutescens&cart_id=  third from the...

Cannot find this pepper anywhere on the internet

Smokemaster, the reason I was wondering if these were Habanero De Arbol is that the peppers on mine are so varied in size and shape as compaired to the pics I have seen at other sites. They are all over the map on mine. By the way Bob gave me one of his plants. It is the one in the pic above...

Cannot find this pepper anywhere on the internet

Smokemaster are you sure about this, the plant looks the same and I found a 2012 picture you posted on Gardenweb of the flower, and it is the same, but the peppers on this one are not quite as pointed as yours, and some even dip in at the end.   Steven.   Sure, I would be interested in any...

Well, We found a way to contact Bob and had a good visit this afternoon. I took pictures of the flowers which was  hard as I don't have a good macro. I tried to get shots in different light. The first picture is not real good and was on the plant in the sun and in the wind. I popped a whole...

Did I get scammed or is this real

Well thanks for the confirmation that the notice is real. I think I will just let it go as they probably got my name in their computer and if I order any more and I come up in the computer as trying a 2nd time,  they may have to go and take an antacid pill or something.   Does anyone know where...
