I was really sad when my 5 year old Scotch Bonnet Chocolade died.   One thing I noticed was that insects did not touch it anymore after the second year. Of course I hade plenty of new young plats for them to chew on instead...

Exactly, I have also used FloraNova one-part nutrient while growing in perlite/coco with very good results   Think both are good, pick the one you like the most. Have all in one bottle or do the mixing yourself :)

I have tried it, used two so called 'Bubbler'. I can't say that the fruits was less tasty, but then I only had two of them, can hardly call that a fair study. I used GHE 3 part solution, worked really well, a little to well as I think I over did the growing part, the plants became huge. :)

  I fertilize, depending on the soil. If one have good soil that comes pre-fertilized and you re-pot regular, 4-5 times before end pot then you do not need any extra fertilizer until at least 2 weeks in the last pot.

Honestly, is Scotch Bonnet the hardest chilli to get the right seeds for? Have gotten so many different chilis from habanero to mushroom while trying to order sb seeds.

Red and green makes for a brown color, if it was in the middle of maturing I would say that is what it is.  But the last picture you have there it looks like the pod has finished maturing?

Please also check the plant. The Jamaican mushroom is a capsicum chinese, but the Mushroom Red that looks just like it are a C.Annum, and they are about 1/5 in heat. The way to find out which is which is by looking at the plant, do you have more than one pod per Y (sorry lacking works for what...

  Having the same problem here, ordered 750 seeds of Scotch Bonnet red and they turned out to be Mushroom reds also :( It is a really nice chili but still not what was expected.   Apparently a normal mixup due to they look alike.
