    pod Manzano red?

Yeh at the end of the day I don't care what it is, was just curious to what the general consensus was. The pods do have black seeds but I noticed that some of them that I harvested a few months back had white seeds in them as well, maybe because I picked them early, dunno was weird tho. But is...

    pod Manzano red?

Hey all, I bought a manzano red plant as a seedling over a year ago, it's incredibly productive and to my surprise fruited all through winter. I'm not doubting that is is a manzano red but the pod shape on the plant is a very odd oblong shape, and they all seem to look like they are being...

    plant Any ideas?

Just an update if anyone's interested, turned out red, extremely hot, violent stinging burn on the tongue and back of the throat (burn hung around for 5-10 mins), honestly wasn't pleasant. I'd probably put the heat somewhere between a ghost and scorpion but unrelenting. Fair bit of placenta and...

    plant Any ideas?

Thanks for everyone's insight, they are now turning an orange-red colour so I'm assuming they'll end up red. Was a pretty cool transition though, from a deep purple to a brownish green to orange-red. Will continue to grow over the next number of seasons.

    plant Any ideas?

I agree with you there, was mainly trying to determine at what stage to harvest the peppers and more importantly how to label the seeds I harvest from it.

    plant Any ideas?

Okay I'm pretty sure I noticed the same plant being grown in a pepper geek video on youtube, they informed me that the plant is a new cross called "Olive Nagabrains" which goes from purple to a mustard colour. Not sure how my local nursery got hold of it, but I'm not complaining if it is. Will...

    plant Any ideas?

Bought this as a very small plant, was tagged as purple tiger, but from looking online I'm pretty sure it's something else, from what I've seen the purple tigers leaves should have a lot of white on them and the pod shape is different. It has no flowers at the moment so I can't recall exactly...

plant What is that ? Hurts like a MF

I can't be certain but I think I grew that one last year, it didn't make it through winter though, I remember the pods ripening with the green to orange to red as per your photo's above and it was extremely hot. I checked the tag from it and it was labelled as oz brain killer 1 (some crazy cross...

What does everyone think on this one?

Yep, that's why I had a fair bit of trouble identifying it, as I was getting a fair bit of variation in the pods. I'm gonna call it a 7pot for the time being but if I can get it through the winter, maybe next season it'll throw more uniform pods.

What does everyone think on this one?

Here's a better look at the pods: I'm now putting my money on 7 pot barrackpore, it's defeinetly a superhot, pods vary a bit but the majority are smooth and have the same wrinkly look, and I have seen a fair few reviews online and on Youtube that seem to mirror my experience when I tried it...

What does everyone think on this one?

I have added a few more photo's as they are now ripe (or close to it).   After searching around a bit more I found a few possibilities however the pods are really quite varied so it's hard to pinpoint one against another. One strong possibility would be...

What does everyone think on this one?

Just ate half a pod, started off with quite a fruity sort of apple / capsicum flavor, wasn't hot straight away then turned into an absolute inferno, burn lasted for about 5 - 10 minutes, still have the fruity flavour in my mouth after the burn subsided which I like. Much hotter than a hab...

What does everyone think on this one?

Aahhh ok I didn't realise, could possibly be the same or similar then, hopefully the one in the second image will ripen soon so I can pick it and get a good photo of it for comparison. The one in the last photo should only be a couple of days from being fully ripe so I'll see how it tastes...

What does everyone think on this one?

Yeah I agree with you, however its definitely not the same plant, yours is very dark in colour and has a furriness to it whereas mine is the complete opposite.

What does everyone think on this one?

Hi all, bought this plant from a chili festival the other week, came from their unknowns pallet and I haven't been able to put my finger on exactly what variety it is, would like to get some other peoples opinions on it. Thanks in advance. Hmm, not sure why all the images went in sideways but...

    Hello from Melbourne Australia

Hi all,   I joined the forums a few weeks back but forgot to say hi.   I have been growing chilli plants now reasonably successfully for a few years and just stumbled upon these forums recently. I look forward to contributing where I can and receiving any feedback in turn.   Some of the chilli...

    Butch T Scorpion is struggling

Okay, I just uprooted it and had a close look and nothing. It all looked perfectly healthy to me. Overall span of the roots one way was about a foot, no signs of rot or damage, no insects and soil looked healthy with no traces of pests. Mystery!   I have now transplanted it to another spot to...

    ID on these?

Don't worry I won't let them go to waste! At this rate it looks like I'll have a lot of salsa and chutney. I have read that these are really good stuffed also, I'll definitely be trying some of these stuffed with feta, garlic and olive oil.
