health Bhut yellowing, and brown spots. Cure please?

Hey Grimus, I agree with everyone else in regards to too many nutes. I used Nitrophoska blue this year also and found it really difficult to figure out an adequate dosage to give my plants as the instructions on the packet were in grams per square foot. I ended up over feeding my plants...

    Recognize the chile pepper?

Hey knml911, did you get this off a mate of yours who if from NZ?? I'm from NZ and the majority of people over here aren't into hot food, consequently it is very difficult to come across people growing crazy hot looking chili peppers such as the one in your pic. Interesting indeed!! Oh and by...

    Anyone ever use grow bags?

I'm using them this year mainly because they are very cheap, especially when brought in bulk. I have never had any problems with them getting blown over or anything, but as a few people have mentioned they can be difficult to move!

    Help me please!!

Hey mate, if you see any more Wildfire chili plants I recommend grabbing some more. I grew one in 2008 and it produced really well, and I even managed to overwinter it and it is now twice as big. I saw a few in bunnings down here yesterday that were a decent size and already had chili growing on...

    Some pics of my Tomatoes!

Hey thanks everyone for the kind words.. It would make sense that the random shaped tomatoes are caused by environmental things, as we have experienced some pretty random weather all spring/summer. Thanks for the advice Sorellina. Just out of curiosity, if I were to give them a feed of some...

    Some pics of my Tomatoes!

Hey mate. I am growing Grosse Lisse and Roma... not exactly exciting varieties but they are popular down here as varieties which are guaranteed to grow very well with our climate. I'm thinking next year I will have to have a go at growing some heirloom varieties from seed. Anyways, I have a...

    Is this a Cajamarca?

looks kinda like an Aji Norteno, although from what I understand they don't start out purple or have as much of a tail! http://petterssononline.com/habanero/peppers.php?action=variety&id=7 (pics of chili at bottom of page)

    Season 2009 JungleRain

Damn thats hot! I would be lucky if it gets to 30c or over here, no wonder so many kiwis insist on jumping the ditch to go live in aussie haha. Anyways, cheers for the videos, everything looks awesome, Its always good to see the efforts of those dedicated to turning their yard into a chili farm!

pics Some pics of my plants!

Hey mate, I got all my seeds off Trademe. There are a few people selling seeds on there, although I checked on there the other day and there seems to be much better variety of seeds being sold during the winter months compared to now. Apparently it is perfectly legal to import seeds into NZ, but...

pics Some pics of my plants!

Pinching the buds has helped my plants grow much bigger than they would have if I had let them flower a month or so back. I am glad that I did it, especially considering a month back it probably would have been too cold for fruit to set anyways, which would have meant that letting the plants...

Cheers for the advice mate. I don't have anywhere adequate to plant it in the ground, but I do have a 40L grow bag to put it in, do you recon that will be enough soil for it? it is currently in an 18L bag. Thanks for the advice on staking too!

You are right about them being impressive producers! Impressive heat too (although not extreme). I know that if none of my other plants produce much, at least the super chili will provide me with enough chili to make a decent amount of hot sauce!

pics Some pics of my plants!

I'm not sure if it is necessary, but it gets pretty windy where I live, even during summer. It can get windy enough to do some damage even with the plants staked. I could just take them out of the wind but I wouldn't them to miss out on any of the sun/warmth which often accompanies the wind! I...
