    smoking Tonight's Dinner

I grill vegetables almost every time I grill any meat. I use the "If it can be cooked, it can be grilled" idea. For asparagus I use olive oil and a lemon pepper seasoning before grilling. There's never any left. If you like onion soup, try this on the grill. Peel an onion (I use yellow onion)...

    What to do with Habanero's

I put out two habanero plants last spring. They did quite well and I've been giving the peppers to my stepson (he can handle the heat). Anyway a freeze was forecasted for last night, so I pulled the remaining peppers. What is a good way to keep them for later use. Does just freezing the raw...

I'll try to respond to all the questions here. P_Schneider - sorry but I didn't even think of taking pictures while roasting the peppers. Hatch peppers

My wife and I just returned from a trip to New Mexico. We went to the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, then on to Santa Fe and Taos for some sightseeing. We picked up a bushel of peppers from Hatch, New Mexico. I roasted them on the gas grill today and split up the meat into small batches...

    craft beer

It is the clear bottles. If they don't keep it in the dark it will turn into skunk p**s pretty quick. Where I buy it they keep it under a shelf in the cardboard box.

    craft beer

Being in Oklahoma, our selection is a bit limited. One of my favorite breweries is the New Belgium Brewery, out of Fort Collins, Colorado. They make about 6 different brews with a coulple of seasonal brews as well. I guess their "Fat Tire" label is my favorite, but their 1554 is excellent as...

Charcoal vs Gas, what do you use?

I agree with Potawie!!!!! Never use regular charcoal (too many impurities and chemicals in it). Use lump charcoal and NEVER use lighter fluid. Use a charcoal starter chimney. The chimney works extremely well.

    food Chipotles & Chicken recipe

Chuck, we tried your chipotle/chicken/bbq sauce recipe. Dang that was good eating. I kept putting more sauce on while eating and sweating. I will fix that again. Do you find that the "heat" varies from can to can on the chipotles? I make a wicked potato salad with chipotles in it. Sometimes it...

Charcoal vs Gas, what do you use?

I use both, depending on the time available and what is being cooked. When using charcoal I only use lump coal though. Coal does give a better flavor, but the gas grill flavor ain't bad. When you get home from work and want to do something quick the gas grill is the answer. On the weekends give...

food was in the store the other day....

Tina, it is made from stainless steel. It is about 3/16'' thick, and holds up well. I've bought several and given them as gifts to people that come over when I've served them and couldn't quit talking about the peppers.

food was in the store the other day....

You need to use a "Chili Grill". You can stuff the peppers with just about anything you can create, and it won't leak or melt out of the peppers. I've had one of these for about 3 years now and we use it frequently. My favorite stuffing is mixture of cream cheese, crab meat, tobasco, and...
