    Black Naga Marmalade

... I realize I'm really digging up the grave here, but yes... it's obviously flammable. Didn't you see my attempt to copy?! Mine did flame up. :D

    Starting a Garden

I realize I'm getting started on this late and the growing season isn't really that long around SD, but... I'm doing it! I finally own my own place and have a yard that I can use to create a garden! I picked out a spot next to my shed (shed is West of garden).   This year, I'm going to grow...

How to prepare ones self for super hots?

I like hot stuff, but I hate the taste of orange habaneros. I find them to taste like grass. You can't enjoy the heat if it means eating something that tastes like liking a hobo's foot. I didn't get horribly excited by ghost peppers either until I tried smoked ghost pepper. That stuff is great...

Death Strain . hype or real deal?

It looks like all hype to me. Until it's stable and tested, I'm not biting.

Why do peppers seem hotter raw?

I skip the eye protection, but that's the exact respirator I use.

    Black Naga Marmalade

Time for my extra notes. It was really good, but it's missing "something". The cayenne pepper flavor sticks out the most. The jalapeños added a bit of a veggie taste to it. The scorpion peppers weren't fresh and I think that destroyed what would have been awesome.   So next time... I'll make...

    Black Naga Marmalade

Nope. I caught it quick enough. My hands burn a lot from cleaning it, but I learned a valuable lesson. Considering the "holy shit" factor, I'd say everything wound up rather well. Hopefully I managed to follow all of the other directions well enough and tomorrow I'm throwing this on a PB&J. :D

    Black Naga Marmalade

That looks and sounds amazing. I tried this tonight. It's the first time I've ever made jam/jelly/marmalade... I deviated from your recipe a tiny bit... I used only the peppers I had available: (combo of 15 scorpion, 11 cayenne, and 8 tiny jalapeño). I also only had small oranges so there was...

    Garden 2.0

I redid my garden. I'm calling this 2.0. :D It's not only peppers anymore, but it's still what got me started. My Butch T. plants took a big hit when I decided to stake them, but I'm sure they'll come back. It leads me to a question... I heard that cedar chips on top of the soil can be useful...

pics About pinching the tops off (my experience with pics)

I'm pretty sure that new growth is always a lighter color. Especially when that growth is forced.

    pests Some pest

I ran off for a while... and back... Thanks for the pointer. I used that Bonide 218 and they're all gone. I still have some issues with those fungus gnats, but they're rare now. I only water about once a week and add some balanced fertilizer every third watering and keep a fan on them a few days...

    pests Some pest

I've been having troubles with pests in my mini-garden inside my apt. First were the fungus gnats (fruit flies? w/e they are) and I got rid of them with some plant safe pesticides and getting the soil very dry to the point I pretty much killed one plant. I had to just cut off everything above...

    Spicy Peeper

I always use gloves when working with anything hotter than 300k SHU. Obviously when I was working with some Pure Evil I was wearing gloves. Well.... apparently there was some left over on the bottle when I moved it after cooking and guess what happened after some lemonade. Yup, I had to pee...

    Corned Beef & Taters

I don't really think the leftover stuff would be good as any sort of gravy. Maybe if I'd used less water and added some corn starch it could have been. I do think gravy in place of (or in addition to) the cheese could be pretty awesome. Actually... I might try that tomorrow. :)

    Corned Beef & Taters

At first I thought I was just throwing a bunch of random things together, but it turned out so amazing that I had to share. To start with, it's hard to get anything other than prepackaged corned beef around here. I take the point just to save a few bucks. In a crock pot, I put in one can of...

    is this normal

I've seen this a few times when I overwatered my plants. That leaves you with three things that could be the cause... too much water, too little water, or too few nutes.

    Fungus Gnats Softened?

Well.... I overwatered by a large margin and am now faced with this issue. I'll try to remember to buy some of this bouncy paper tomorrow and see how well that can help while I wait for the soil to get nice and dry again.

    Wilted plants

What size and type of pot is that? As much as places around here are starting to put out the gardening stuff, I haven't been able to find pots like that and I'm thinking it's time to go online with my search...

how do you think this is doing

My ButchT plant looks _nothing_ like that. You make me nervous and doubt that's what I'm actually growing! I guess I'll find out eventually....

    seeds ▶ Seeking Germinating Advice

HAHA!!! I remember once dicing up a great many peppers by hand and no gloves. I took a shower right after and all the oils still on my hands traveled down my entire body and stayed "there" for a few days. It was in the skin on my hands for over a bloody week. I quickly found out how to pee...
