    Ghost Peppers turning mustard color

After going through old pictures and comparing I am 90% sure these are Mustard King Naga's.   Fantastic pepper, I am very fond of of the Yellow King Naga as well.  The Yellow is easily one of the best tasting peppers I have ever eaten.  The KIng Naga's are decent producers, but I like varieties...

    Ghost Peppers turning mustard color

I love Mustard pods, you lucked out with that color mutation unless it wasnt a mutation.  I would take mustard over red any day of the week.      Edit:   I forgot to add, about 3-4 yrs ago I grew Cappacino Naga's which looked similar.  Honestly they look more like Naga to me than Ghost peppers...

    Scotch Bonnets?

They dont appear to be Scotch Bonnets, at least the purple looking peppers with the very large calyx.   Its not the first time a Nursery has sold an unknown pepper and just given it a random classification like Scotch Bonnet.  Its a common practice I have found with all the nurseries I have...

    Bad peppers

Well I grew the Aji Habanero variety a few years ago, it was labeled as a very mild in heat sweet pepper.  I remember it being "very seedy" and not much sweetness to speak of.   I think the amount of seeds and bitterness of them affected the taste of the pepper greatly.    I cant really say I...

heat What's the hottest thing you're growing this year?

I am growing the BTR Scorpion, I have seen reviews and hoping it lives up to the hype.   Anything Scorpion seem crazy hot to me moreso than other varieties so I am sure it will be plenty regardless.

    St Augustine datil pepper sources

The only Datil pepper sauce I have tried is from Firehouse Subs, its there house sauce made from Ketchup.  Its a great sandwich sauce, but it doesnt really highlight the flavor of Datil all that well.

    cutlery Best knife sharpener?

The Kiwi Vegetable Cleaver is my favorite also, I am the same and use it everyday.  I usually dont even bother and pull out my expensive Cleaver anymore.   These Kiwi Brand knives and cleavers are so easy to sharpen as well.

    cutlery Best knife sharpener?

i have used dozens of sharpeners over my lifetime and I'll say most are functional.....  to me the root of the problem is poor quality steel in the knives you are purchasing or are available.    I am basically a cleaver guy as I prefer cleavers to butcher knives as I tend to find them with...

    First hot sauce attempt

I have been making my own Hot Sauces for 6-8 yrs now. the one thing I stress is you cant taste the sauce right away.  If you let the sauce sit a few days after bottled it will taste completely different.  This heavy Chinense taste you keep commenting about is common after just cooking.  It will...

Primo released some new pepper seeds

Seed prices are rising with some vendors but "Buckeye Pepper Company" just actually lowered their prices.  Located in Lima and I consider them one of the big vendors with quality seeds so check them out.      P.S. I cant really blame Try Primo for his prices, his peppers are great and in my...

Any peppers you like for some uses but not for others?

Yes, I was speaking of eating them raw.  Milder peppers I like to snack on with my dinner, sometimes I'll eat a Habanero or a superhot with my dinner depending upon the heat craving I am having.    Occasionally I might not have any added heat at all with a meal, but its rare now.

Any peppers you like for some uses but not for others?

I prefer to pickle Aji type peppers much like Banana pepper rings.  I dont care for eating them fresh as its a texture thing for me.  I think they are fantastic pickled though or in sauces,      cheers

hot-sauce Grace Caribbean Curry/Scotch Bonnet Hot Pepper Sauce

I am a fan of all Grace Caribbean Hot Sauces but never tried this one, I cant imagine it wouldnt be great like the others I have tried.  I usually buy the Scotch Bonnet sauce myself, only lasts me about two days after opening.      At $1.50 it is indeed a bargain!
