    I'm not new, just back...

I'm not a new member, but I haven't been around here in ages (last post in 2008  ), and I doubt anyone remembers me, so I thought I'd post in here first... I'm getting back into growing after having a few quiet years due to various reasons, but I'm settled in where I am now and I'm...

    What's hotter?

I've cooked a couple of meals using trinidad scorpions lately, and tried them fresh, and I've come to the conclusion that scorpions (at least the ones I'm growing) are hotter than nagas (again, the ones I'm growing). Who else is growing both types? What do you think? I'll try to make a poll...

    Criolla sella

I picked a couple of dozen of these pods today, and I have to say I'm very underwhelmed. They're warm-ish, but they have very little flavour, they seem dry and a bit bitter. Compare that with the bolivian rainbows, which are very hot and nice and juicy and flavourful, I'm a little disappointed...

    First real harvest

So, this is my first real chilli harvest for the season, even if it's only a small one. There's an anaheim that's starting to ripen (it fell off when i touched it, whoops), some jalapenos, ripe bolivian rainbows and some nagas (the two unripe ones had fallen off). I need to decide what I'm going...

    At war with pepper maggots

I've lost a few anaheims over the last few weeks to pepper maggots, and I haven't been to concerned, I mean, their only anaheims. But I've been away for a few days, I just got back, and I've just had to throw out 6 semi-ripe and ripe nagas. This means war. What can I do to kill them? I'm open to...

    Ingredients for dinner

Mmmmmm I'm making stir-fry noodles for one. If I remember I'll take a pic and post in the 'last spicy meal..." thread. I usually use habs, but I don't have any, so green nagas it is. I'll have to try one first to gauge heat I think...

    Some chilli porn

I got the camera out this morning and took a few happy snaps. This is my first time using Google Picasa, it seems pretty good. The pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/bobsyouruncle27/ChilliPics

    Some garden photos + problem

I planted my trinidad scorpions out in the garden today, and thought I'd take a few photos while I was at it. Here's a selection (I'll post URLs, since the pictures are between 200-600KB): One of the 5 scorpions, still only small... http://members.optusnet.com.au/bobsyouruncle27/trinscorp.jpg...

    Plant height?

Hey everyone. I'm going to be putting my chillies in the ground this weekend, but I'm not sure how to arrange them. They're going in a garden that's up against a tall fence facing west. They'll be in two rows, one row against the fence, one row on the outside. Because the way the garden is...

    pics Seedling pics

I thought I'd share some pics of my 3-3.5 week old babies :) Inside part 1 Inside part 2 Inside part 3 Outside 30 plants inside (the lights make it hard to take decent pictures... I should've turned them off) and 19 outside. There's about 6 more that I put in random places in the garden...

    +1 from down under

Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while, figured I should sign up and try to contribute (but I'll probably end up just asking the questions :mouthonfire:). I'm from Ipswich (near Brisbane), Qld, Australia. The upcoming season will be my 2nd growing my own chillies. The 1st was a disaster...
