Picture of older peppers hardening off...Red Savina against wall on right, contest Nagas in front of them...three little marbles in front, cutback orange hab on left and 2 little elfs behind the hab almost top center. Pam, you asked what color brick was on our house....in the first picture you can see the brick.

Plants are back in their grow box home...notice they now have company...a yellow chrysanthemum...aphid prevention (hopefully)

Grow shelves so I hope plant out is in two weeks so I will have room of the other 468 seeds I started today...

Hi AJ
those peppers in white /clear containers (I think 9 -10 Oz size ) how old are they???
I'm asking to figure out how long it will take for mine to reach this size

WOW. if i grew one plant as good as one of those contest nagas i would be perfectly happy for the whole season. very thick nute highway it's got!! great lookin plants man.

I had heard that this doesn't actually work. (from a copuple of people actually). Anyone else hear of this not working?
 
well i work in a greenhouse and we plant mums for all the major holidays, and they seem to attract more aphid than almost any other plant we grow. so i guess if your plan is to attract them to the mum and keep them from the peppers it might work. personally i'd keep it away from the plants for fear of actually attracting them. then again the aphid on the mums are almost always black in color, while the ones that go after vegetables tend to be green; i don't know if they're an entire different type or what.

Seeds for all peppers in clear plastic 9 oz cups were planted 27-28 January 08.

Mums coming out right now....don't need no stinkin' aphid attractors...

All babies healthy and no sign of disease or pests...

last two pics are the Bradford Pear in our front yard....cloudy day here today with severe weather predicted for this afternoon....closeup picture of the tree show's the buds are ready...Monday or Tuesday this tree will be almost completely white...

Thanks gents...I will be the first to say everything I have learned has come from this site and its good members. There are some excellent gardeners here.

Do you just set the plants in the cup holders into a tub of water to bottom water? And I've forgotten dont you use 9 oz cups as well? Just wondering how well that works opposed to top watering, I may have to give it a try.

The cup holders I have built allow me to place a 9 oz cup in 2 1/2" diameter holes that have been drilled in the holder. With 2 1/2" legs, about 1/4" is left between the watering container bottom and the bottom of the cup.

I'm sold on bottom watering...easy to do, no mess, no fuss...pour water in a container and watch the cups soak it up....here again, this is advice I have received on the forum....

My plants seem to be happy at this point in time...
