Aji Lemon Drop vs Aji Pineapple

none really other than maybe my aji pineapple are bigger plants this year. I really can't even tell a difference in taste.

Same with Aji Limon and lemon drop. I think the two are often mislabelled as one or the other. from what I seen true lemon drops don't look like aji pineapple or limon but then again it could just be another mislabel.

Here's a thread to just add to the confusion.

I grew lemon drop , limon and pineapple this year and if I put them together I wouldn't be able to tell one from the other.

I really think my lemon drop where just mislabeled limons though.

I grew both this year, there wasn't a lot of difference between them. The lemon drops were (on average) a little shorter and fatter than the pineapples and an ever-so-slightly lighter shade of yellow. The lemon drops were a little hotter and more strongly scented than the pineapples.

As far as I can tell there is no visual difference between Aji pineapple and Aji limon.  Aji limon and Lemon drop are the same.  Aji limon is  "lemon chili pepper" in spanish.  It's a baccatum as you can tell by it's beautiful corona on the flowers. Im wondering if Aji pineapple is even real and not just Aji Limons.  Every other Aji Ive encountered has had a fully spanish name, Aji limon, Aji cristal, Aji amarillo, aji chonco.  Why would there be a Aji pineapple?

i'm convinced they are the same pepper.  If you grow lemon drop seeds from the same pod but in different soils/ferts, there may be a slight difference in flavor hence where an aji pineapple came from?  ;)

I just joined this forum, but here's my two cents.  I've grown lemon drop, aji limon, and aji pineapple this year, and I can definitely say they are all the exact same tasty pepper.  I used the same soil for all 3 of them in pots, and grew an aji limon, and an aji pineapple in the ground in the same soil.  All 3 of them put off pods with the exact same shape, flavor, and heat levels.  I sourced each different type of seed from different vendors as well.  No matter what the name the vendor uses they are all indentical, delicious, and extremely prolific Baccatum pods.

These 3 names for the same Baccatum pepper should hopefully not be confused with the Aji Mochero, which is a Capsicum Chinense, but also ripens to yellow.

I think the pineapple are just a little sweeter. But it's such a slight difference that I don't think it's worth growing both kinds. I'll probably just do pineapple and mango next season.
