thanks  and i will let you know

how hot as it, you said it was not a habanero
what exactly is it??

please let me know

thanks your friend Joe
Sorry, have been busy planting out :) It's not that hot, around 100k scoville is my guess. Taste is fruity with something else there which I can't describe, best let Nigel taste test one once you have some pods ;) What the parents are... thinking of a Scotch Bonnet because of the shape but the stem and leaves have hairs which is quite unusual for an Chinese.

i will most likely send Nigel a bunch of goodies again this year, i will try to be sure to send some of them too

i had 3 plants and it looks like i lost 2 to sun-scald but the one that lived is healthy so it looks like i will have some pods

Don't worry, Joe. One plant will produce more then enough pods, I had great yields from it. Excellent producer.

Sorry to hear this my friend, I'm always pretty impatient also when it comes to hardening of my plants :(

well i suppose its safe to say that this is the worst year i have ever had, the weather isn't cooperating with me at all RAIN RAIN RAIN!! colder nights,sun-scald,squirrels

the only light of hope is that most are getting small new leaf growth but there poking around and its already mid June, im getting worried that there not going to make it in time
i have never had this much trouble all at once and i have been talking to others and it seems in many ways, shapes and forms there having the same problems and its not just in my region
i had to take a few off my list because i lost them
RAT TURD
CUMARI DO PASSORINHO
PURPLE HAB (NO STINGER)
not alot all things considered

i might make a few enemies with what im about to say if this is what you believe but  GLOBAL WARMING MY AUNTS ROSY RED BACKSIDE!!!
every year it seems to take longer and longer to warm up and the summers don't seem to last as long as they used too??, so whats up with that???
this last winter was one of the hardest i can remember??

I used a little more miracle gro this year than i normally do and it seems to have helped so i suppose it has its uses, i don't like using too much and only in the beginning to get them going

there going to have to start explosively growing soon or i will end up empty handed this year :mope:

would love to hear from you if you are or are not having difficulties this year

thanks your friend Joe

Joe i agree with you wholeheartedly. This last winter was absolutely brutal. we had -50 celcius in December, that is just too soon even for Alberta. We were the coldest place in the world one night in December. That should never happen, as Siberia is always colder. The summer just isnt really hot at all anymore, evenings are cool, days are humid makes for some hard growing that for sure.

Lets hope everyone makes it to production before the ugly white stuff comes down.

just about everything you said was true down my way, except we were not the coldest but you would have thought so living here, i shoveled more snow this year than i have since i can remember

Just getting up to date. Nice list. Sorry to hear about the misfortune. The plants will keep fighting and will come back. I started off overwatering indoors once. Hardened them off and they survived. More rain didn't help. They recovered. Transplanted and bam. Sun scald. More rain. Starting to see some growth. Trying to practice patience. Have a good weekend.

yeah i have had problem in the past but not this many and i know they will recover but time is ticking and they seem to be taking longer to recover this season

i trimmed off all the burned up leaves today to let the plants put there energy into the new growth,  they wont have to work now to shed those bad leaves anymore

thanks your friend Joe

I did the same thing. Trimmed the leaves and after about 5 days there starting to come back. Mine are all in containers. As soon as the roots grow out I think they will shoot for the sun. It's a challenge here in Colorado. We get cool nights in the 50s and warm days in the 80s-90s where I live. I hope your plants start improving soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.
