got a few photos to share that I took yesterday...the plants seem to be growing well this year...it just doesn't seem like it has been as hot this July as it was last year...maybe I will get some early (read September) harvests....

two overview shots of a lot of different plants...small bhut jolokias, yellow, orange habs, T Congo (red), Black Congo (IMO same as chocolate hab), tabasco, a few outsourced 7 pot, red savina, sweet and hot banana, serrano, and some scotch bonnets...there are over 200 plants in this area which is 18 feet wide by about 24 feet long...

the rain we had the first of July really helped my crop...but now, we are back in our usual summer hot/dry season...highs near or above 100 (38C) and lows close to 80 (27C) at night

thanks Nova...the yard sure looks different than it did two years ago...

please, lets not forget that when I joined this forum three grow seasons ago, I had been growing for several years...but...the knowledge I have learned here and from the thousands of pages of reading and research I have done has allowed me to grow like I do...

I still make a lot of mistakes but am trying to eliminate those each year...

growing is a learning process that continues each year you grow...and I ever get to where several others are now in their growing expertise (which I probably won't), I will be happy

Aj: Words fail; you are obviously a very accomplished grower. I was struck by the one picture "a sea of green" in which the flowers were so obvious it just knocked my socks off. I doubt I'll ever get to that point here; but I'll die trying.
Those shots are inspirational. Cheers.

Wow, that is a pepper garden ! :fire:

Any room left in the garden for the kids to play ? :P

Nice work on it, it seems like you'll harvest tons of peppers this summer ^^

thanks all...

Geo...they will be loaded with pods in October/November if this season is like the last several...but the plants will look like a woman that has been locked in childbirth for several weeks....

AjarnV...thats what this forum is all about IMO...sharing what works for you with the other growers makes this place special, especially when you have growers that are truly interested in producing excellent growing/producing plants...and inspiring others is what it is all about isn't it?

Fayah...no kids allowed on this property  wife has grown kids and grandkids up in Chicago but they don't come down but a couple of times a year...another note is I keep all gates pad locked to keep intruders out...if, and I say if...this year is anything like the last two, I should harvest close to, if not over 400 pounds of peppers this year...

I'd like to think so. Cheers.

Wow. I wish I had that much space and that many great plants!

I can't wait to read your assessment of what varieties worked and didn't work for you after your harvest.

Those are just beautiful pictures.
Got to say that I see order, scale and simetry in your garden . Thats very hard to achieve and very cool to look at.
I'm a mathematician so I like order...

Do you have a weimaraner??!! Love those dogs...

Bleash

thanks again all...

CharlesNYC...Assessing what varieties that work best for me has been an ongoing thing for the past 3 or 4 seasons...2 years ago I had over 100 varieties...last year I had about 55 or 60...this year I am down to 16 or 17 varieties...but I will definitely tell you what works best after the season..

Bleash...yup, that is a weimaraner...he will be 11 years old October 1st and I have raised him from 5 weeks old...he is my companion/best friend and the absolute best animal I have ever had...as far as the symetry and orderly arrangement of my yard...it is not as symetric as I would like but it is getting there (I am an anal retentive engineer, retired now, but still and engineer)

Now that your pool is taking up so much space, you got to start looking at that neighbor's empty yard :)
Forest is looking great as usual AJ! Keep up the great gardening

Absolutely awesome. As was stated above by Ajarnv, I am amazed by how loaded up with flowers your plants are. Hopefully the heat drops for you soon so they will start setting. This season I have gained a better understanding of what southern growers have to deal with. We have had higher than usual temps and as a result there has been quite a bit of flower drop. I can't really complain though I will still have more pods than I know what to do with.
