harvesting AJs Backyard Pepper Porn Video and 15th Harvest 11-08-09

I have been very busy lately and not on as much as I would have like have been.

October really slowed things down for me as far as production goes...much colder than normal and the 5th (or so) wettest October on record here in Fort Worth. November is shaping up to be a much better month than October.

Here is a short video of my plants full of pods.

and here is a list of my todays harvest - just like last year, November is going to be killer

this week is going to be busy processing

Absolutely splendid AJ! Just think my garden has been all dead and gone for about a month now. You were harvesting such a wonderful harvest today and I while I was tilling under my garden.

Jesus H christ AJ.........your plants are so good....I am so coming to USA and visiting your backyard....:D

The yard is still so green and healthy....great stuff

Hey Moyboy, I know my way down to Texas and am fairly familiar with the Fort Worth area.

:In the dead of night Moyboy and Pepperfreak sneak over AJ's fence and raid the garden...Ahrgh...run away...run away. There's a human sized Rat Trap! Run Away!:

That's impressive! Everything growing in just pots too. I'd like to run 3-4 plants each of about 30 different kinds of pepper. Seeing how well yours have done in pots I'd tempted to try it.

Moderator bickering is not allowed here. Nice vid of the backyard and the beautiful harvest Ronnie, great to see your plants so green and healthy this late. Congrats on the huge flush of pods very impressive.:)

Thank you gentlemen...your compliments are truly appreciated...

thats how I started 4 or 5 of about 80 different varieties...then I cut down on the number of varieties to those that did well for me here in north Texas and will cut back next year on the number of varieties again down to about 30 or so but will plant more of the varieties that sell better...not much of a local market for superhots I'm afraid...I plan on having somewhere between 400-500 next year...

AJ are those new plants you start every year?

That is truly amazing!

yes sir...each of these were started from seed last January...I will try and overwinter a bunch this year and just see what I can do...

WoW AJ your plants look fantastic i would love to have that many growing but i think girlfriend would freak..lol..oh well one can only try again great collection AJ they truly are wonderful

thats what I do Tk...start my seeds in my germinator in January/February, transplant to 3 inch containers until plantout in April...

Guess it's about time for me to start tracking down a bunch of varieties of seeds :) I already had one offer here for a few seeds, so I'm on my way!

cool man, it seems the pepper bug has bitten you..

I've always been a big hot sauce eater, and collector for the past few years, now I'm getting interested in growing my own. Just a natural progression I think.

Moyboy took the words right out of my mouth AJ! You truly do have a gift in growing peppers, that and your love for it means that you could never fail. If i could be half as good as you growing these plants i would die a happy overgrown child :D

hello AJ
very nice collection of plants you have :)

after havesting , what are your plans ?? over winter all of them ?
what is the size of your pots ?? it looks small compared to the your plants! what is the height and diameter of the pots? my plants tend to become root bound in 12 " dia pots! , start to wilt and drop leaves.

making me blush here Nova but I sure do love it...thanks man

Where are you on the total pounds this year compared to last?

I am down nearly 67 pounds from this time last year to this but the cool/wet October really hurt production. I should have another harvest bigger than this next week hopefully...there are still tons of pods on the plants...especially the 7s, scorpions, and superhot corner...

thanks srin...I am going to try and overwinter about 50 this year if I can find the room...I am growing in 5 gallon containers but don't know the exact dimensions but they are definitely rootbound...I think what helps is once I get the containers where they are going to stay, I don't move them and the roots grow out of the holes in the bottom of the pots into the ground...
