harvesting AJs Harvest #7 07-26-09

AlabamaJack

eXtreme
I got more than I expected today...a little over 14 pounds...

my pods have really decreased in size for the most part...some, like the Trinidad Scorpions and 7 Pot have maintained their size...two things have happened I think...one, calcuim lack and two, the hot weather...I used a tomato/pepper peletized fertilize that was 4-3-2 and 7% calcuim...just a waiting game now to see if the pods get bigger....this may be my last good harvest before the "no pod stretch" comes...I am really looking forward to a good fall harvest this year...

I have been picking peppers for 4 hours...time to relax a bit...

running total for the year....
19.3 Kilograms / 42.5 Pounds

actually it has been a fairly cool morning...its only 92 right now but I decided to stay out of the sun today and cook/can salsa and puree...don't know how much I will get done...was out until 3am this morning...had a gig and ate breakfast afterwards....pretty tired right now...

Mountains of pods... most excellent. If that's a Chelada in that glass, Sunday morning WIN

nope, no chelada...the real thing... A 7 pot bloody mary ... the most excellent use for a 7 pot I have found so far....

Doesnt seem a year since that first big harvest buddy and glad to see a great haul again,Nice to see some things dont change ;)

thanks again gents...the weather here is cooperating this year...we had a long stretch of 100+ degree days (about 13 or so in a row) then it cooled down a bit..to mid 90s and very humid...the plants are thriving...IMO if it stays like this, I will have a slow down for pod set but not as severe as last July/August...

Just noticed yesterday, I got a lot of Dorsets ripening....this is the first year I have grown the Dorsets and I am interested in comparing them with the Naga Morich/Bhut Jolokia/Bih Jolokia...that day will be one hell of a taste test...

Going to interesting to hear your Views on The Dorset compared to the Bhutt Or Bih Morich causes some arguments amongst between my family and friends:)
