Thanks Adam,

Not doing the Red CPR this year, trying to cut back on number of plants, and wanted to try some new varieties, so, unfortunately, the Red CPR did not make the cut this year.

Looking forward to seeing how well the Red CPR will grow for you, if you decide to try it next year. It was very productive in a pot, so it should be really good in the ground.
That's good to know, because I'm doing both this year.........well, maybe a hybrid, I guess. I have buckets going, but instead of tearing up the plastic, tilling up all the dirt and adding amendments, I decided to leave the plastic, dig out and remove the dirt from each hole, and then adding my own amended soil to each one. So next year I hope I feel like growing. I DO want to grow that bad boy!

Where do you get your nutrients/additives? The Down To Earth brown boxes? I also use oyster shells. Along with Horse poo and a little bit of gypsum, and I used a couple different guanos this year. I'm trying some mycorhizzae on some plants, too. So anything natural, I'm down to try.

Thanks, al!

Adam,

I do my 'pre-fertilization', to coin a phrase, using the Down-to-Earth products.

A couple weeks after plant-out, I start a regimen of Alaska Fish and Liquid Kelp, at 80% recommended dilution (4 fl. oz. of each per 5 gal. water), and apply once a week. I generally give each plant a rough approximation of 1-1/2 quarts of solution. A little more if they look like they need it, a little less if they are looking good.

I also give them one application of myco a week after plant out. About a cup of solution each.

If you didn't plant a brown jalapeño and that's a natural variant, would you mind saving some seeds for me, please? I have a hybrid brown jal that's expressing Chinense genes in it. It's Stefan's (MearFreak) Azabache Jalapeño. I'd like to find a natural brown JUST LIKE YOU DID......without being a hybrid somebody worked on.

Here's mine. Can't really see the multiples per node.

Your phenos are on point, Al! Those bhuts look dangerous! I'm growing a Black Naga. I got the plant from Piedmont Farms in 2014. I overwintered it and crossed it THEN with Peri-Peri indoors. Then I tried the white glue isolation for the first time on the Black Naga. It worked and this years' plant is from those isolated seeds. I'm pretty sure it's a true naga.
Where do you purchase your nutrients?

EDIT:
About the brown Jalapeño:
I've seen that brown as a transitional color on reds before. Like Kung pao. But I hope it stays brown for you!

The down to earth amendments are readily available here at the grow shops and even at some nurseries. Definitely price check because I am able to get it much cheaper than Amazon offers.

Thank you!
I guess I've never seen them before. I've only really used a couple of things. After trying dyna-gro, I've stuck with it. But this is the first year I've tried amendments. Only because I'm digging out the old dirt and filling the holes with new soil. But horse poo has proven to work pretty well for me......so far. Lol
There are a few extras I'd like to check out in the Down to earth brand. Thanks again!

Thanks Adam. Yes, Troy's seeds. I was actually impressed with pic myself, considering it is just with a Galaxy 8. Using it as my phones homescreen.

Very nice!
I use an IPhone SE with a 13mp camera. It works great..........some of the time. Lol. It's all about lighting and distance with this one. Uber frustrating, too because the focus likes to play with you. Once you FINALLY get your pic and it's in focus, if you're using flash, it'll outfocus on what IT THINKS you're looking at......or it's set for a distance to find what's right around there that you MIGHT be taking a picture of. I don't know. Headgames with this one.

I literally take over 300 pictures a day (not including what I delete right there), and only post MAAAAAAAYBE 20 on the high side. Not per day, but out of the 300.

As soon as the phone comes out, frustration begins in the garden. I try not to take it out with me, and only do picture sessions. Normally, I'd look at the plants, have my phone on me, pull it out to catch this crazy insect, and the above focus carnival game frustration starts, while the insect flies away.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for rambling. It's maddening.
