American Pickers in Twisp/Winthrop

Omak (Walmart) is North. The highway they showed is West. It's called the North Cascades Hwy. North Cross for short.

FYI, that's not a Bluetooth phone thing Kjell had on, it's an implanted hearing aid.

Pretty cool to see Greg on the show. He's one of my favorite people here.
We have gotten F******************cked up together, and his wife Rachelle makes some fantastic poppers.
i was so wondering what that was on his head?

TWISP!!!! Saw Greg and the others, cool, and was that Hank's log cabin looking joint your local place? I think I saw you buying English muffin bread through the window!

You sure it wasn't hhwiskey?

It's funny, of all the cool stuff Greg and Rachelle have, they wanted that White Wolf. ???
They own the Cheveron gas station/ Subshoppe in town, and that wolf was hanging from the ceiling collecting dust.
He has a really nice collection of Tavern Pianos, Armoires' and furniture of the like as well as Horse drawn Coaches.

But they wanted that White Wolf, and an old box of shotgun shells.

LOL. Some of the stuff they buy is scripted to set up the gag, as in Frank texting Rob for info on the wolf, and that whole storyline they played out. I hate the little storylines. Like they bought that little fake car as Danielle's company car, and the set-up was she asked for a gas allowance. The worst ones are the Subway paid-for integrations where they crave something good to eat and end up at Subway! Yeahhhhh right on the back roads of America and you crave Subway! They also mention "5 Dollar Footlong" a lot. Paid for. Bold!

Remember, it's a TV show.

Do you think they really drive around telling people how valuable their item really is and pay them more? That's the "History" channel part as they explain the history of it.

3 grand for a bear trap? He wanted $700!

Yeah, I wasn't sure how that Bear Trap thing was going to go.
I know that guy enough to know once he heard $5000, he was going to want that amount.
Like everybody on Hard Core Pawn. I thought they were actually cool about it but it was kind of hinky there for a minute.

I also don't believe they just roll up in dudes' driveways asking to 'pick'. Setttttttuuuuuppppppp.

Ah well, it was cool to see Greg on there. I could tell he was crackin those boys up, off camera.

Oh yeah that's arranged by production well in advance. Notice how they don't look into the camera's lens when they roll up, they just talk to the dudes. You'd definitely ask what the hell was going on if cameras and lights were in your face ;)

I believe in some of the picks, and some of the freestyling, but they still arrange the meeting before the roll-up.

The world of reality TV... I don't watch pickers too often for that reason.
I like Pawn Stars once in awhile, but that's because there's some cool history there, and the old man and Chumley crack my s**t up.

Same thing with that Heat Seekers. too much set up, and actual BS.
When they showed the episode of The Seattle Wing Dome (or whatever)...
They showed the owner in the back making the super duper hot sauce with all fresh ingredients (Habs Penos etc).
Fact is, SL and a few others had it and the extract made her sick. LIE!
It's sad really, because it really doesn't need to be that way.
