5 peppers got an entire 6 pack; otherwise divided into 3 (half 6-p: yes; 6/2 = 3 [hotdamn am tired]) and will prick out. Entire 6: 1. BOC (Jason/GA Growhead) 2. MoA (but another half-6 of that from Walkgood/Ramon and Steve); 3. Tabasco (mine) 4. Bahamian Goat (Greg PIC1), and 5. JA Hab (Ramon/Walkgood)

Many thanks to Mike Rote/Barley_Pop for jerky   :drooling:  and Jason/GA Growhead, for sending me my own Orange Thai seed and the hottest damn powder I've ever had! :onfire: Also, thank you, John, Ark/Saw for the Harbor Freight coupons for "torch to burn honeysuckle roots." And everybody who has, via PM or otherwise, encouraged, offered ideas on new, additional growing space: fence is gone and if no rain, fell, limb, buck and split with two splitters 8 big trees, Maple, 4 Hickories, Pecan, Black Walnut, Poplar NEXT WEEKEND!

Also, would like ideas on that new (additional) space (100'+ x 50')  with stumps, most are to side except Maple. 1. burn 2. grind (cost prohibitive and don't think rented grinder would get it but might if ya'll have any ideas) 3. Work around them this year . . . raised beds, ugh, the work or level with huge dump truck topsoil. And again, work around what's left of stumps. Rip it in Feb. REALLY rich humus in half that on the "lots of trees" side: 25' x 100'+. Also, high side. Have considered dozer/bucket end of my and cousin's tractor just to help level and "share the wealth" of humus.

Hope everybody has kick-butt 2014 GROW! :fireball:

Yup... ice is your friend up to a point, but then warmth and massage seem to stimulate healing faster. I hope you broke out the slow cooker and are making lots of bone broth miz Annie.

The ripening pods you have going in your garden have my mouth watering for sure! We're still a few weeks out from ripe Chinense pods here, so I'm still living vicariously from y'all's Dixie grows... :)

That BBQ looked delicious! Have you got any Manzano powder to try on the next batch of roasted corn? I dunno why, but a lot of folks like to mix mayonnaise and lime juice to slather on their ears of corn, then dust with chile powder and sprinkle with Asadero cheese before putting them on the grill. If it's fresh-picked, it's hard to beat corn steamed in the husks on a grill. :drooling:

I'd stay away from tobacco tea anywhere near nightshade crops too... the cheap chewing tobacco most folks would use for that are infected with tobacco mosaic virus, and steeping in hot water doesn't kill it. That said, it's great for nuking squash bugs if care is taken to keep it strictly away from nightshades...

Bones (not mine  ) in refrigerator waiting just for that, Rick. And true, sans massage except mine, foot's getting steamy heat at night, now. Heck, I got out a germ mat and put it under calf--this "walking funny" stresses calf muscles. Thank you!

I put some in the hot powder I shook on my ears. :drooling: True, just steamed and for me, tad charred; in Mexico, or Austin down on E. 7th they wait until after boiling to make Elotes about same way with Cotija (or any crumbled queso blanco) and it's good for a change. I think the "big deal" is to save husks for tamales; (and man, there a woman who just sold tamales off her front porch and to DIE FOR good! Yard was kinda like a drive-thru but good food).

That said, it's great for nuking squash bugs if care is taken to keep it strictly away from nightshades... Yeah, my grandfather used to put chaw Red Man in his mouth and go spit on watermelon patch. Now, if that "stuff" hit a small melon, it just stayed on it as it grew: rain wouldn't wash it off. No clue what it did for stink bugs  Thanks, Rick! Have more pics of those blasted BG7 that may be NONS!  :tear: What do YOU think?

More Bubblegum shots and none have calyces like on BG7 threads.

Plant 1,  babies and adult:

Plant 1, adult (sorry about flash):

Plant 2, adult:

AnnsG-147-28Bubblegum1adult_zps136fb2db.jpg

Only thing can say about calyx on adults is that they are more raised/lifted? than on other peppers. As long as tastes like Bubblegum, don't care. But none are turning because . . . they aren't.

Thanks for looking and any help be appreciated!

Sorry Annie... from what I've heard, the BBG7 has a much wider calyx. What you show looks more like a standard Chinense. It could be a cross though, so I wouldn't write it off just yet. Maybe it'll have the flavor you want. Adam's description of "cherries and cinnamon" sounded interesting. I may have to grow some of those next year!

What an epic update, Annie. Those orange Pimenta Lisa have an really interesting podshape, your the only one that I know of that has this shape. Please be sure to save some seeds of it :) And not to forget those amazing looking poppers and ribs, makes me hungry everytime I look at them :D Good to see the garden is in full swing and the pods are starting to ripe of. I regret not growing the Dix Doigts de Naples this year, a couple of the sauce varieties haven't impressed me that much. It will definitely be back in the garden next season. Good luck with the rest of the season and sorry for slacking on the replies in your topic.

The moruga parent trait is showing of on your bbg7 pods, Annie. Out of the 3 plants last year I also had 1 plant that had exactly the same kind of pods like yours on the pictures.

I charred my corn with butter, Kevin/Wayright's SBonnet salt, and my meat powder. Folks just wanted theirs steamed.

See? MY corn! Literally, eating this beside grill.

Folks were thrilled . . . and Daddy mostly ate watermelon. (Like kid with toy at Christmas and they play with box or wrapping paper. ).

Thanks!
Ok I am ridiculously hungry after reading this!! :D .... great pods and food all over this glog ... hope you are back on your feet/foot ASAP ... cheers

As long as it has the flavor I want, Rick, I could care less about bleeding calyx. I can't write off these monstrous plants yet: I doubt could pull them out of ground if sod was floating. (See that on news, in 'Bama?) And if they turn out to be red morugas, will blend with some Braz starfish, Tobago Seasoning, Trini Sweets, some JA reds, jals, ferment and call it really hot sauce! (Or powder.)  ;) Am selling buttloads of that meat powder at my middle-bro's business: sent couple teaser poppers to those guys, powder samples. Have orders on commission. Smoked RMs are not bad. But be nice if got some crazy cross.

You got Lisa "Naranja" seeds, Stefan! I love taste of that pepper, more citrus than bhut, sweet, and gets warm from jump. Will grow it again next year. DD de Naples had Italians in Valdese drooling, but as said: when they share seed, I share seed. If I can get them to give up one particular San Marzano-type seed, will send you some.

Yeah, reluctantly thought RMorug too, but . . . not giving up on the babies!

GA Growhead said:
Definitely look like the moruga pheno. If you get a smaller calyx that turns red, you will be the first that I know of. And that would be a treat too! Even rarer-er-er. :P

Not my aspiration, JasonLove--(there's SweetJamie and JasonLove now, along with an affectionate "Kevin-Ahole"), more "rare-er-er," but will take it if they taste like true BG7. That'd be downright funny: skinned red calyx. "See baby boys? Whacking it off don't hurt a bit." (Wrong: they scream. If it doesn't HURT, why do they scream?! Am a member of an advocacy group against the archaic practice, unless religious stuff. Money-maker, however.)

TRIPPA! Thanks! Problem has kinda been being back on my "foot." As in, singular. Pulled ton of summer squash plants yesterday, slowly, tossed to side of garden, lettin' em heat up today in sun, prior to slow transport to "the suspicious" compost pile--am composting pig weed just to have compost tested next spring. See if it can be used for something if composted. Glad ya liked food pics; truly labor of love "at the hop-foot." Thank you!

I haven't noticed any bhut flavor on the P. Lisa so far and I'm glad because I'm not such an big fan of that floral aroma. Sounds promising, I can't wait to try the orange ones from my green phenotype plant. Glad they liked the DD but is that particular San Marzano type that special/good? If you do get your hands on some I would love to try it out to see it lives up to the myth

I've been away, and come back to poddage and a great BBQ session! One thing I'm never going to do is be away 3 out of 4 weeks in July again! Gonna stagger the parental visits next year.

So, how's the foot? You should be close there Kettle ;)  Although once "healed" the swelling will bug ya, but then thar's that bucket ya only knocked over once so far ;)

Please remember, the healing part is the most important phase of an injury. Get past that and then screw the pain ;)  As long as, well you know, or are about to learn...the stopping points.

The Pot's knee did good in the surf, rode more than one (spank me). The first ride was the best except at the end, I bowled a strike with a group of 5 year olds. They went flying everywhere. Poor kids, it had to hurt, cuz it hurt me...LOL. They went running for momma. My sister kept saying you broke your hand; I said, "give me your hand" and squeezed real hard. Then she agreed it was OK (after her knees buckled). 3 LB hammers never broke my hands at full swing, ouch, don't need anymore of that. While in SC brother talked me into a pedometer, was a great idea for tracking how far I could go before I had pain. Cool thing was I never had any :shh:  But it made me keep track.

And Pigweed! We have that, we just keep it from going to seed. I sure do hate weeds!

Take care of yourself!

Why they were drooling: your DD de Naples taste better than the guarded "secret" SMarz seed. So . . . waving a few in front of their noses (leverage) and maybe get some of their San Marzano seeds. Seriously, my mom's best friend--her son was first boy I kissed at 5 yrs. old (fast little bugger when he was 5 too)--but mom's friend was Italian/Waldensian and wouldn't give my mom or grandmother those SMarz seeds. Or trade, nor nothin.' I mean, I went to h.s. with these people! But we'll see.

Eh, foot will be "better" by Monday when see doc, but have over-worked it, Pot. Doing a probiotic body cleanse, my way, givin' me TOO much energy!

Cool! Riding waves and hurting kids on The Grand Strand! Naw: they're indestructible, as most are local (NC/SC/GA--Southern youngins--we don't count VA Beach because they flood OBX (aside from light houses, history, talkin' like a Coker, and DEAR LAWD, the seafood, I like Cherry Grove in SC better than OBX.

Welcome back, Scotty! "Cause I'm free, free-fallin' . . ." into kids with a bum knee. Hon, we'd probably kill ourselves in less than an hour. I can only handle a 2 lb. sledge: it's the wedge that always messes that up when tired. I think it's that I have my grandfather's hands. Yes; before he died, he insisted on transplant and my mother agreed. She--although she keeps longer nails year-round--cut mine in spring--and middle brother, several male cousins, all builders, mechanics, got his hands. Genetics and Darwinian survival? Compliment to me: his hands--there were so many to go around, lol, could whittle what he saw, hand-carved every detail in African Red Mahogany 3 piece bedroom suite that he wanted me to have--his oldest and only granddaughter :D --made corn liquor good enough to supply judges to keep him out of jail, worked hard, and then . . . chilled out with a guitar and apple brandy. Dude had strong hands: he used them. Were he alive, he'd be so on this board. Turned me on to hot peppers and fishing. I miss him so much and loved to watch him stand back, look over a broken, or just not right situation, come up with a fix w/what he had. He'd make it work. You remind me of him, Scott; ya slick!

Gotta buncha pics. If ya'll don't mind bumpin.

Very nice miz Annie!  Interesting to see your Naga King came out redder than Charles' (spicegeist)... mine are still pale green but sizing up I think. Gochus look spot on, and you got A-grade MoAs! Definitely lots of eye-candy here. ;)

Are the King Naga from PeriPeri?  I like the yellow primo...

No, Charles: think maybe Jamie or Jason. But Nagaey-er, sweeter, hotter, and tad more fruity than other Naga. Yeah, YPrimo is a nice tasting pepper. Wish it'd hurry and turn! Thanks, Charles!

Thanks, Rick! Sent some X2 bacon wrapped poppers with some funky reaper whacked up in 'em, also used meat power blend, some infused salts, and 8 guys who work for my brother have put in some "orders:" powders, sauces, salts. So, as I enjoy, might make a dime. One just munching away, "Hotdayum, ma'am, these really got Carolina Reaper in 'em?" I said, "Naw: Texas Reaper!" He said, going for another one, "How much you want for a sauce made-a-'em?" I said, "Well, 20 bucks for 5 oz. woozy." He said he'd pay 30. Bro looked at me, shook his head, walked off eating one.(See, I know how well they get paid. )

Welp, Jason, they taste like Trini Sweets and are HOT! Sweet but hotter than what you sent. And given that they came from your firebeds . . . ;)

My naga kings from periperi are similar, they must be the same.  I had a primo crossed with yellow bhuts I gave to sanarda last year, they looked like yellow bhuts... I wonder if anyone is growing those anymore.. oh well...

Aji Limon, yadayada, but is 2nd blush on these as been eating them on everything:

Now, the surprise:

Supposed to be white hab. If anybody else has had this happen, let me know, please. Thinking white hab just crossed with large orange hab or something, took huge bite off this in garden. Immediate mistake, esp. on empty stomach. Looks like a Y7.

Mystery Hab/7:

In hand, HUGE pod. Never seen a hab this big:

Got to pin down taste as it has some slight hab metallic thing, but is hotter, tastier, real 7ey taste (and I say this after eating half of Jason's Brown Butlah, which I shall never ever, never, do again. Nothing will ever be hot again.).

And my fav, and may be only cayenne I grow henceforth; Yellow Cayenne, hotter and sweeter than red:

Thanks for looking and anybody with ideas, aside from that supposed "white mystery hab" getting crossed with a hot softball . . .
