Ants and other things

I have a lot of ants in and around my plants is this a bad thing or how do i get rid of them? they're just the small black ants. they were inside all of my flowers yesterday and i went outside this morning to check on them and all the flowers had fallen off... I dont know if it may have been them or not first time ever doing this stuff, not quite sure about this one. The wind/rain was heavy last night and got a bit cooler maybe 15C compared to 35+ we've been having could that have also been why?
oh ya, my first post ever!

can be if you have aphids they farm them and protect them at times

i have them too but not too many if any aphids just keep an eye on things

hope this helps thanks

Try mixing up a tablespoon of molasses in a gallon of water and spraying a little on the ground around the plants. Ants supposedly don't like the smell of molasses and should leave the area.

I had a crazy ant infestation earlier this year in my raised beds. I bought 9 ant traps in 1 box for $5, and pretty much wiped them out in a few days. They were clear plastic ant traps with clear liquid inside. I set them on boards in the beds so no liquid would get into the soil. Worked like a charm!

:welcome:
I am having a running battle with ants, aphids, mealy bugs, white flies, plant hoppers and spider mites :( . I've tried all sorts of home made recipes which up until this week seemed to be keeping them in check. This week though they have exploded in numbers. I have just returned home from the local nursery with a packet of this.

If it does half it claims I'll be happy  .
