I started skating in 84 when i was eleven. Will be 39 soon, skating the whole time. Worked in a shop for many years and had some sponsors. My son skates too, he is now 18. I still ride when ever i can. My back has given out, so not as much as i wish. Eventually will have to get surgery. But... love bombing hills, flat ground, ramps/bowls/pools. Kids trip out when they get beat by the bald old man in game of skate. I try to keep my game up. Never owned a long board though.
And carvinguitarist, german bearings were the best. Then in the earlier to mid 90s, Chinese knock offs appear, still saying german on the shields, that total sucked. And from there on never saw another set of the originals. And the cheap chinese bearing took over. Only ride the bones Swiss at this point, as everything else sucks. You brought back memories with that one. Germans and NMBs.
