people remind me of good things I have done for them which were sacrifices for me. I refuse false modesty. I am not religious but isn't there a saying about not hiding y our light under a bushel?
 
Indeed we are to let our good works be seen by men so they may glorify God.

I'm not into false humility either. I just don't want to shirk my responsibility.

Why do people often rail against "organized" religion? Have they never been to a voters' meeting? There's nothing organized about it.
