I have a barbeque loving friend who is going through some rough times right now. He has an enormous pequin plant that he lets me ravage fairly regularly. I want to make him up a batch of spicy barbeque sauce to help lift his spirits - and I would love to be able to use some of his or my own fresh pods to give it some personality.
I cannot seem to find any basic barbeque sauce recipes that use fresh pods or puree- everything seems to use chile powders. Does anybody have a good recipes they wouldn't mind sharing that use fresh pods or the like? Alternatively do you know a good way to convert a bbq sauce recipe using powder to one using fresh peppers?
Here's the closest I was able to find with a quick search:
This one seems a bit bizzare - I'd prefer to go with something more traditional

This one sounds pretty good, but I'd like to see other recipe's to compare
