BEER!

last night I did a Founders Nemesis 2010 Vintage, definitely needs to sit

also drank a double IPA I brewed, which is freakin incredible, top 5 of my beers ive ever brewed

and a Lindemans Faro, kind of like a traditional lambic only a little residual sweetness added

Took another shot at the Brooklyn Winter Ale today. Tasted much different. Must have had a screwy palette last night. A lot better today!

New England Brewing Co.
Imperial Stout Trooper
ABV: 8.5%
2008 Vintage
Revisited: 20 Nov 2010
At Least 2 Years On This Bottle

Poured into a chalice a thick black color, some nice carbonation still, almost a one-finger creamy tan head, some oil slicks and sticky lacing around the edges. The nose is malty, chocolate/toffee notes, roasted, slight vanilla. The taste is very nice, malty, nice touch of roastyness, and slightly vanilla (sweetness), lots of very nice chocolate/toffee notes. The finish is slightly dry, the alcohol is hidden very well. Full body. Very Drinkable, this one is stilling holding up pretty well.

Cheers!

Sammichlaus Helles Lager 2007 today

and of course I had to crack open the expensive bottle of Lost Abbey Angels Share

Been sick the past few days and still recovering. Same story as the past 5 Thanksgivings.

Felt a lot better today and celebrated it with a fine, fine beer.

Sierra Nevada 3th anniversity helle bock. Beautiful, smooth beer with a large head and was sealed with avery good quality cork. Hoppy and clean and inredibly smooth. Plan a buying another 1 or 2 to age and try next fall to close out harvest season.

Been far too busy to stop by the forum for a while, but I've had my usual one bottle an evening...

The only one to note as a real "surprise" -- Flying Dog Horn Dog Barleywine. Cheap for a barleywine, like $10 for 4 12 oz bottles, yet REALLY solid. Must try if you can find this, for the money the best barleywine I've had.

Had some Widmer Brothers Reserve Cherry Oak Doppelbock last night. For a somewhat mass produced company, that was FANTASTIC!

Had a Michelob (yes Michelob) winter bourbon cask ale. Actually wasn't bad. I love when big beer companies make something decent. Tasted more like a vanilla bean ale than anything. But I love vanilla.

Bought a few winter warmers and such today. Samuel Smiths Winter Welcome Ale, Sweetwater Festive Ale, Highland Cold Mountain Ale, and Dogfish Head Sahtea.
