All the IPAs I had at Monkish were NEIPA style juice bombs. They really nailed the style...I mean seriously nailed the style!t0mato said:I want those.
Nothing's as west coast as my beloved Sticky Hands.
Lol...I was talking about the pookster's brews...but those bottles of sours from monkish are better than any west coast IPA for sure!Thegreenchilemonster said:All the IPAs I had at Monkish were NEIPA style juice bombs. They really nailed the style...I mean seriously nailed the style!
I'd put their IPAs up in the same league as many of the heavy hitters out here in the NE. Their sour game though, is absolutely amazing. No kettle sours to be found, just lots of Brett and wild fermented stuff, and funky farmhouse stuff.
No wonder they are so well known amongst beer enthusiasts nation wide.
Gotcha. There are some killer WC IPAs out there. I tried a few at Angel City brewery in LA, and I wasn't impressed. AC Brewery did have a great 13% Barrel rye barrel aged lager, and a tasty Berliner, so I was still pretty satisfied with their operation. Plus, the AC Brewery is cool as hell, and freaking huge, with a bunch of fun stuff to do in there while getting your drink on.t0mato said:Lol...I was talking about the pookster's brews...but those bottles of sours from monkish are better than any west coast IPA for sure!
They brewed a collab with Trillium the night before I went over there, so I got to see the brew fermenting, which was pretty neat.t0mato said:Your photos from monkish were awe-inspiring. There brews have been on the bucket list for awhile. Sadly I've never seen any of them anywhere here in the area.
I haven't been to Portland in years...like 8 or 9 years. They had a great beer scene while I was out there, I bet it's only gotten better.t0mato said:You should come over here to the Portland area. Then we could get hoity toity beer at Breakside, Block 15, and Claim 52.
