Bell peppers

Do you grow bell peppers? Which bell varieties are your favorites? Hybrid or heirloom?

I have been thinking about trying a couple of bell varieties during 2024. I do not see any of the heirloom varieties getting much hype online. Maybe the hybrid varieties are sweeter, thicker walled, more productive?

I may try growing a hybrid variety or two from Burpee or Johnnys.

Look at California Wonder, it's easy to grow and highly productive.

I grew Gurney's Colossal Hybrid bell peppers for many years. They were big and good tasting.

Heirloom for me. I want the option to save seeds. The Cali Wonder is nice. I like to grow all the colors. They say to eat the rainbow for best nutrition.

Seed Savers Exchange offers a nice variety of heirloom bell-type peppers. I'm not a fan of most bell peppers, but I do remember liking the "Sweet Chocolate" from them.

A sweet thick walled pod great for stuffing & fresh use.
Not going back to standard bells.
