Bleash 2011 Grow Log

Hey guys,

I finally decided to start my 2011 grow log.

First things first, the list:

  • Fatalii
  • Cayenne
  • Jalapeno
  • Hot Lemon
  • Rocoto Red
  • Black Pearl
  • Pimenta de Neyde
  • Chocolate Habanero
  • Italian Long Pepper
  • Trinidad Scorpion
  • Trinidad Scorpion CARDI
  • Trinidad Scorpion Douglah
  • Piri-Piri
  • Naga Morich
  • 7 Pod Brain Strain
  • White Bullet Habanero - been germinating for 4 weeks, so far nothing happened.
I know its not much but its already more than I can manage with the limited space I have available.

My goal is to have a little bit of everything in the least amount of plants possible.

Notice the heat range that goes from the mild Hot Lemon to super hots like Naga Morich or Brain Strain or Douglah.

Pod colors range from Yellow to Red, passing through Brown and Purple.

Pod variations also covered, from tiny the Piri-Piri to Italian Long.

Also, I have at least one plant from each of the five domesticated species.

Yep, when you need to do it small you tend to care with a lot of unimportant details...

We need some pictures to bring things to life.

I'm gonna start with my Trinidad Scorpion CARDI.

Healthy plant :)

The plant is separated from the others because I need to take seeds from these first couple of pods.

Nice list and your CARDI is looking good!

I hear ya on the whole limited space thing. I am actually limited to a patio at my place - but thankfully my mum lets me grow at her place, bless her heart!

Great list Bleash and that Cardi is looking really good and healthy. How long is your growing season in Portugal that you are only starting seeds now?

Very healthy! Slap a silk tea bag around a few of those flowers before they open for your seed stock. That way you could let her join her friends and share the dirt/sunlight!

They look really great!!
You're well on your way to a very exciting growing season!!

Boy you're going to love them!!

LOL, I do the same with my father.
The only problem is that he's 200 miles away so they are not really my plants anymore...
But a least I can keep the harvests :)

Great list Bleash and that Cardi is looking really good and healthy. How long is your growing season in Portugal that you are only starting seeds now?

Growing season is from March to the beginning of December.
Its so long that usually nobody overwinters their plants, this CARDI and her brother Douglah are the exceptions.
I started most of my seeds back in March, but I always end up adding a couple more a little later just to fill a space.

I'm still working on that technique.
It works great with erect flowers but not so good with the pendant ones.
Right now I'm experimenting with the glue method, see if it works for me.

Nice list and beautiful looking plant Bleash.

Nice list bud and plants look great
well done!

All my overwintered plants get a second season in the real world, outside and in the dirt with all the bugs and stuff.
Amaizingly they all do better than in their first season. :)

I'm trying to spread the love. Last year I gave this friend of mine a small Black Pearl.
Its a beautiful, fast growing plant.

This year he grew is own Black Pearls from seed and even asked me for other varieties.

Looking good Bleash. What's your growing season like there? Is your father North or South of Lisbon?
Hey Spicegeist, thanks for your comment.

Our growing season is from March to middle of December. Just perfect for peppers! :)

I live in Lisbon and my father lives 100 miles south. He has even better growing conditions, with more sunny days ( around 260 or more), if that is possible.
