Bought an old house :)

All my veg seeds up, only took a week, hot temps and downpours :)

Beans were the first to pop up, Cayenne the first to fruit. Herbs doing great, potato's came up yesterday.

My Rhubarb is five years old believe it or not, last year I thought it was dead, this year it poked its head out so I transplanted him. Now for the first time he's producing and looking healthy, must be something in the soil in the last place, even though I added good soil on top. So will finally have some nice stalks.

These are the only two survivors of my whole stock after the Aphid attack, slowly coming back, lost the labels so don't recall what they are.

Found some antique glass :)
Nice. My house was built in 1882 and as kids we used to alway find those antique glass, morphine containing, patent medicine style bottles... Didnt know at the time that everyone from the late 19th century/early 20th century was high as a kite. We used to just chuck em at each other.

Being able to tell people to "Get the f**k off of my lawn!" is a great feeling too :)

Maybe that's just me being crotchety at the ripe old age of 36 though

Ha, yeah! Since some time last year, my wife (who is home with the kids) has noticed a Chinese woman (relevant later to the story) walking by my house, onto my lawn, and peering into my garden. It's all in the front yard (about 36 beds), I get negligible backyard sun. I've been a bit p!ssed about it, thinking she'd try to harvest something or, God forbid, she tried to check out my beehives just yards away, gets stung, etc. I told her to let out the dog next time, my wife said no, blah blah blah.

A few weeks ago, I took a day off work to garden. A van pulls over and out hops this woman and, I presume, her father. The man could speak no English but he was amazed at what I was growing. Going nuts over onions and garlic. His daughter could speak some English and we got on ok (she had no clue what a "pepper" was - how unfortunate!). I wound up giving them a bunch of tomato plants and surplus purple bunching onions that had been in one of my beds for years. They were incredibly grateful.

Now, when they drive by, we wave. I haven't seen her walk by in a while, but in hindsight, even if I had said eff off way back when, it probably wouldn't have sunk in :)

I had to do a double take on this...the first time I read it, I thought it said she was "PEEING" in your garden! WTF?!?!?!

Then I was thinking, this dude has to be the nicest guy on the freakin' PLANET to give her a bunch of plants after she was pissing all over his yard! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

LOL, so far neighbors good, if anything, it looks like I motivated them to work on their "garden". Im told im in the "Good" block, next one over theirs a drug dealers house, and a couple others in a block area. Cops parked at the corner at times watching.
