Brown Moruga Thread

Getting some on pheno pods ripening now :D

I thought it was time to update what is happening with the 2 subjects from this past years grow. A couple of weeks prior to our first damaging frost, I decided to bring them indoors. It never seems to fail, the transition from outdoors to grow room always results in a severe loss of foilage. This year was no different. Since then, the plants have rebounded very nicely. They are laden with buds and flowers and new growth is surging. I decided to toss the metal halide bulb and invest in a new hps. I like the way the metal halide makes the plants look but I think the plants favor the spectrum of the hps. I'll post pics after I get the room cleaned up a bit.

Looking forward to this one pod on an otherwise sad looking plant.  Seeds from pods Judy sent me.  My fault the plants ugly, not hers

It should end up looking more or less like Dogmans in post #61 :fireball:

Is it possible for a plant to throw pods expressing a phenotype. Then seeds grown from a selected pod of that plant to not express that phenotype during the following season. But then, when brought indoors to extend the life of that plant to additional seasons, throw a pod that does appear to be expressing the sought after phenol? I may be jumping the gun but it appears that the plant that grew from the dark phenol pods has now decided to produce a pod similar to those of its parent plant when all previous pods from the plant this season were normal.

These Brown Morugas look amazing. Where can I buy seeds?

Never mind, I just bought some from Puckerbutt. This is a very inspirational thread!

I don't know about everyone else, but Brown Moruga lit me up more than any other pepper this year. Wow these things pack some heat
Yes, they have plenty of burn. And a great taste to match. It was the 1st super hot I had the pleasure to experience and it really grew on me. Few peppers have had that effect on me. I seriously doubt I will ever not grow one.

Or two.

Or three.

Or a dozen.
If you haven't already, you need to try it powdered.

I got a box of choco brainstrain from Cappy and also grew Brown Moruga. To me there were distinct differences in appearance. I actuary don't recall the flavor of the brain but don't think it had the burn of the Moruga. Those and caramel madballz were the only two I somewhat regretted eating.

My Brown Moruga a easily the nastiest pepper I grew last summer. Sure I had hot peppers. Brains, bhuts, scorpions, etc... hot peppers no doubt. My Brown Moruga tho, nasty hot and had the added effect of making it feel like someone was standing on my sternum. Even the powders I made from them have the same effect. Needless to say, my Brown Moruga plant was bonchid for the winter and is doing great
