Butch T Scorpion...

I was wondering if anyone had a few of these I could have via SASBE. So far the red 7 Pod/Pot I received back in '08 from AJ has been the hottest. I also received a variety of Scorpion from him, but found the 7 Pod to be hotter. I believe he has stated that he found the Scorpion to be the hottest so that is cool to see the different perspective.

Sorry, I've given away all my extra seeds for the year, but here's some original Potawie porn from a few years ago.
For me pods only have "tails/stingers" about half the time

alll I know is they are gorgeous pods....

Butch T certainly did not 'find' this pepper. lol. he got it from another person I knew a while back who got it from another who originally obtained it from a plant nursery in Maryland, US. They got it from a Trinidad native. :) Butch T DID grow it out in mass quantity to save tons of seed several years ago. I guess that deserves the naming of the pepper after him.

Is it the hottest scorpion you've eaten so far?

Hottest pepper I've ever had period and ya Butch didn't really "find" it but he is still the man and I still name the variety after him

Very vivid pics there Potawie. I am looking forward to growing this monster.

Without halting the discussion, I wanted to let everyone know that a very generous member has agreed to give me some seeds. As a result, I am no longer looking for any but would still love to hear what others have experienced with this particular strain. Thanks for everyone's attention and a special thanks to the supplier.

It's probably my favorite pepper but I have terrible luck with it. The first time I grew it I fried my seedlings in the sun. Then I misplaced all but two seeds. When I finally had one started it got so big that the trunk split. I saved a few seeds that year ('08) and tried again. The plants were doing awesome but developed Bacterial Leaf Spot. Now I'm nearly out of seeds from my '08 planting so I hope I have good luck this year.

Some observations about the plant:
Very fast growing
Sturdy, but should be supported
Large leaves
Does not overwinter well and is easily damaged
Beautiful colored fruit

I've seen some describe the ButchT Scorpion as the hottest pepper with a painful burn. In my opinion the Naga Morich and Bhut Jolokia win on heat when mature. It's extremely hot, but in my testing it's #1 Naga/Bhut, #2 Scorpion/SevenPod. The Scorpion is a great pepper fresh and dried and did not cause any stomach pain. On the other hand the SevenPod has really hurt in my stomach, much more than it burned my mouth.

I believe it was obtained from this place http://www.valleyviewfarms.com
I've been there a couple times and purchased and grew their variety of Scorpions last year. Just about every one of these grew the stinger tails but their shape is that of a 7Pod. I think I have pix at home so I can post pic later if requested.

Does Valleyview Farms sell seeds, or just plants?
