Cheap nursery pots?

I get all the 5 gallon buckets I need from my local Sams...and they are free. They also have smaller ones, maybe a 1.5 gallon and 3 gallonish...

Hooda,
I know you said they don't have to be free...but why pay? I got all of these containers free from Landscapers, Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.
At times you see them stacked in their dumpsters, or usually I'll ask. I currently have 62 of the free 5 gallon black plastic containers in teh inside perimiter area of my 600 Sq. Ft. Garden.
That allows for a LOT more produce.
p.s. I did pay for the hay. I use it for mulching some of my peppers with newspapers stacked on the soil first.
Great during hot summers and droughts.
Fiery Regards, Pepper Joe

Yeah I guess I could use bags or even smaller pots. One thing is when I do move I'm not real sure of the ground conditions ( Ph, clay, gophers etc. ) so they might be in the pots longer than what I intent so that is why I was shooting for 5 gallon. I don't mind on free either.

I appreciate all the suggestions.

I get all my 5gal buckets from local grocery store bakeries/delis, and local bars that go through lots of pickles for free. Add in a couple cans of satin black spray paint for plastics. And my cost maybe $0.97 a bucket including gas and labor. They arent the prettiest but they get the job done.

damn, I was looking around Walmart for another fan to stick in the top corner on my grow room to try to get the heat from the top part circulated down to the floor, but anyways the buckets are just under $3 here... stupid CT lol

I just scored about 35 5 gallon nursery pots from a new construction site where they were landscaping...I asked what they were going to do with them and they said 'we usually toss them' they gladly let me have them...just another source for free pots...construction sites in the landscaping phase.

damn, well it's just starting to have warmer days around here.. so I will have to start looking around seriously now.. another month and I will get to pot up the ones I plan on keeping in the 5 gallon buckets to overwinter.. and then eventually the ones that don't fit in the garden will go in buckets as well

@armac (not trying to argue) your right it does attract excessive heat but painted black looks much better than a bright yellow or white bucket with PICKLES written on it 3 times. Ymmv

I'd just keep them white personally, yes black does look a little better, but I just figure it can look a little bad for a few months, but most people should be looking at how big my pepper plants are  and not the buckets as much... and if they say something, I will offer them a pepper to try out ;) but I guess it depends on where your house is and the layout of the property.. we have a crap load of wood from all the trees being cut and the ones that had fallen down after that freak Oct. blizzard that knocked out 99% of CTs power... when I think a few days before it was in the 60s or 50s lol... and everything was still green
