Chorizo's 2019 Glog

This begins with overwintering of Scotch Bonnets, Habaneros (red, orange), and Red Bhuts, plus an occasional Tabasco and Red Chili.  New additions are more Scotch Bonnets seeded over the winter, plus some Reapers purchased from HD recently, and some Red Bells.  Some small Thai germinating too, although my parent plants did not survive.  Also trying to germinate some Piri-Piri.  Was a warmer, wet winter here.this year.  Still drying out.

Rolling in pods, brother. Really nice hauls, very colorful!

Slow week for harvesting....been so hot it either bakes everything or we get violent thunderstorms.  Many plants are rebooting into another mass harvest.  Here are the stragglers. Cooked up my ferment this Monday, and processed the next batch, so we'll check that one in December.  Habanero/ghost sauce.  HOT!

Puny pickins today, but it's been raining.  Probably the last picking for a week, then will have the next bunch.

Sorry, been a while.  Had a good harvest run, then things seem to need a break, but all plants are setting up for another big run.  Took the time to do some pruning, replanting, and fortifying larger plants so as not to fall over.  Some other varieties have stepped in to fill the gap.  Lemon drop, Butch T. Scorpion (1 pepper at 9-o'Clock), long green Thai given to me on my birthday, several red Habs and yellow Scotch Bonnets, and a few small Red Bhuts (12-o'clock).  Some red cherries too.

Many are in this seeding tray, others to go in an alternate.

Seedlings doing well, secondary leaves showing.  These will become part of the 2020 glog.  Some photos of a few plants:

Ahi Dulce in clay decor pot, with 3-yr old Red Bhut in background, 2-yr old reb Hab, 2-yr old Red Bhut, 2-yr old orange (?), maybe a bonnett or hab, and a close-up of some of the (?) pods.

30 October 2019 update:

Plants still producing in pulses.  Many of the larger ones are two-year plants, and we will attempt overwintering again.  Preview of seedlings for 2020 are getting there.  Will keep them indoors or in the garage during near and over-freezing weather.  January through early March is our "freeze" season.  Ten varieties in the seedlings lineup.  Two or three of each variety, in some cases only one, but I want to prioritize the healthiest first.

Great December harvest.

What is the big red pod on the front of the tray?

A healthy red bhut jolokia.  These always rally in December, so holding on to as many as I can get for a last year-end powder.

That is one healthy pod.

Nice and fat with great color  :fireball:
