Chorizo's 2019 Glog

This begins with overwintering of Scotch Bonnets, Habaneros (red, orange), and Red Bhuts, plus an occasional Tabasco and Red Chili.  New additions are more Scotch Bonnets seeded over the winter, plus some Reapers purchased from HD recently, and some Red Bells.  Some small Thai germinating too, although my parent plants did not survive.  Also trying to germinate some Piri-Piri.  Was a warmer, wet winter here.this year.  Still drying out.

So as the cold season comes, trying to secure plants for covering or moving inside.  Newly sprouted seedlings for next year are started.  Made a last-minute seed order from White Hot Peppers, was basically looking for more mild-medium peppers for cooking, but brown to black in color.  As anticipated, they delivered, and them some.
 
Brown Egg (mild and sweet)
Goat's Weed (mild and tabasco-shape)
Guadalupe Black (hot)
Ghostly Jalapeno (hot, gnarly pods)
Machu Pichu (hot, brown, gnarly pods)
Chilihuacle Negro (moderately hot, brown, fat)
Vallero (mild, large, long Mex pods)
Negro de Valle (mild, large, long Mex pods)
Ahi Panca Limo (mild?, but Panca and Limo seem to be different phonemes.??)
 
Will start these over the holidays indoors, and start a new blog next year.

Nice selection, looks like some good eatin’ there!

I only have experience with two of those, but I think
you will like them. Both flavorful with tolerable heat.

The Goats Weed is a superb pepper for making powder.
Should do well in your region. Beautiful as an ornamental
as well. The Brown Eggs make a great powder mixed
with a super hot chocolate of any kind.

What kind of soak are you using, Jeff?
 
Chorizo ..... I believe the Aji Panca Limo is actually Aji Panca Lima ..... meaning from or variety of Lima, Peru.

Thanks, Jeff. I'm just about three weeks behind you   :D
 
We only get two months of what most would say winter here.  March will see things warming up.  The garage gets a bit packed over January-February, but it allows us to start next-year's grow.  Storms and unpredictable wind gusts have squandered my efforts in the past, so I am trying to be extra careful.
 
Getting into the overwintering process.  The 2nd and 3rd-graders got a trim.  Next, I will trim roots and re-pot in 3-gal. pots for the winter months.  Other plants going through the same regiment.  This worked really well last year, as I have at least a dozen 2-yr. olds doing quite well.
