chsy83's 2013 Grow

So, I made some brainstrain sauce from some peppers that I got from joemomma.  Wife and kids had to retreat to the bedroom while I was cooking.  It was the kids' bedtime, anyway, but my youngest was coughing from the pepper, and my wife also stated that her lungs were burning.  Strangely, I was fine so long as I didn't put my head in the pan.

Tried the Aji Limon the other day, it was sweet and hot.  I could definitely taste the citrusy undertones . . . but lemon is not really the flavor that I picked up.  Maybe more pomello-y . . . or maybe more similar to an artificial lemon flavor . . . not exactly that . . . it is unique!

Nice, one of my favorite peppers.  Great in a jelly.
After making that jelly, the closest thing that I can relate the it to is grapefruit.  When I was slicing the peppers open to deseed them, it smelled strikingly like grapefruit.

I can see that.  They've got a bright, citrusy smell and taste.  Good level of heat too. What did you think of the jelly?  Looks like it turned out good for you.

I liked it.  I am thinking of taking some of it and making sherbet with it.

Just finished cleaning, cutting, inspecting, and bagging a quart and a half of butch Ts, a quart of bhut and bih jolokias, about 2/3rds a quart of aji limon, a few red brains, and about a hundo inca red drops. Bare handed. Bad case of Hunan hands.

Oh wow. That's going to hurt for awhile. Wear gloves to the bathroom...

That's the problem, I ran out of gloves a week or so ago, haven't picked up any yet (keep forgetting to).  Took a while to get to sleep.  I am right handed, so my left hand is what I was holding the peppers in place with . . . my left forefinger, middle finger, and thumb felt like they had been blistered by coals.  They still burn a little, but not so bad.
