CMPMAN1974 Growing Log - 2014 Season

Time to start sowing seeds in a few weeks.  I am undecided on exactly what I will be growing this season.  All I know is I'm looking forward to seeing some sprouts after this crap winter so far in Michigan!  Will update once there is something to actually write. LOL.

Good luck to all in 2014!!  Hope it's the hottest season ever!

Chris

Hi Chris, its starting to look like a epic pepper year, just got done looking at all the hot peppers I want to grow, 50 different varieties and I want to grow at least 5 plants of each vatiety. At 250 plants I'm out of room at 50 plants and my mother wants me to find a few more mildly spicy sweet peppers which will take up more room. But isn't this always the case of so many good peppers and not enough space to grow them all.  Can't wait for all the great photo's you post.

No wonderful pics yet?   Hope that you are doing ok, went and did a blood test today to see if I'm still free and clear of bad guys, took forever for them to get all the blood that they wanted, they finally finished at 8 viles, Now its the sit and wait to hear anything game.
I've got a serious space problem, I'm going to need more lights, but as I had to spend the tax return on paying on Hospital and doctor bills and clothes for me and my grand daughter and another unexpected medicine bill from the VA, I'm broke again just when I need to buy more lights. and I will have to set up a area for all the babies that are popping up, out of all the problems,  a happy note I now have 7 galapagoense seedlings that are growing, I'm really happy over that as I have tried so many times to get them to grow, now all I need is to find some true cardenasii and some different C. eximium seeds.
Well my friend take care and don't get stuck in the snow.

I've been delayed on starting this season.  I hope to start most of the C. chinense in the next week.  No fear though, I have started a few things for fun already.  Historically I've done fine starting seedlings mid-Feb here or even as late as March.  A few seedlng photos:

Glad to hear that George.  I hope you have a stellar season!

Dude! You post time to start some seeds and leave us hanging for two weeks plus? Shameful just plain shameful. ;)

I hope the blood tests come back OK George.  Best of luck.  That's great about the galapagoense.  I'm growing true cardenasii this season.  If successful, happy to help you.  :)  The snow / weather has been brutal this Winter so far here.

Looking forward to seeing the list ... I find that one of my hardest tasks ... Deciding what not to grow ... Best of luck with your season ahead... Cheers trippa

Yup. Definitely the hardest thing to do! lol.

Hi Chris,
Somehow I missed your 2014 glog in the ruck, but glad to be here now. Good luck with your grow this year! Thanks to you I'm growing Guwahati Bhut and Dilley Street Tamwork this year. Cheers!

Hi Chris, looks like your wilds are coming along fine, I had to transplant my C.galapagoense, Rocoto's and some early popper's which used up what little space under the lights I had. Then noticed that I will have some more poppers in a day or so.  We were hit with more snow and freezing rain then another early bout of snow today, with more to come. My Ex wife is sick so I have the oldest grand daughter staying with me so she won't get sick, she doesn't like the smell of new soil in the cups that I transplanted my seedling in, "too earthy smelling",  my reply was Too bad, So sad!!
If the roads are clear enough in a day or so I will go and look at some lights, Next week I may have to go into Springfield MO which is 69 miles from me, so I sure hope the weather is nice by then, all this snow and Ice makes me wonder about what March will be like.
Well take care I'm ready for Spring!

Hi Chris, just stopping in to say hi, got my results from my blood work back everything is looking ok, my liver functions were a bit low, but as I only have 3/4 of a liver I'm doing ok.
My seedlings are trying to take over I really need to do something fast which will be next monday at the earliest which won't be fast enough but will have to do.
Warmer weather is heading our way it will be nice to be in the 50's , I'm excited by all the varieties I have most are crosses, but some like your chocolate Bhut J. X yellow 7 pot  chocolate variant is a real ripper compared to the chocolate Naga I tried last year. I have some others like Douglah x Chocolate Trinidad Scorpion and red Moruga Blend X Brain Strain.
I'm also growing the reaper and Red and yellow Primo none of the yellow Primo's have come up i just got three seeds of them I'm hoping for at least one to come up, I've got every color of bhut except for the purple which I think is a cross or a none bhut anyways.

Hi Chris, it seems that you are becoming quite a legend in the Chili world lots of people in the business praising your name your almost as popular as Buda, I wonder if he ever ate any hot peppers in his time.
Man I have plants stuck everywhere, its a good thing some didn't sprout or I'd be hurting for space as it is I gave up half of my bedroom space for my overwintered peppers. If it don't warm up enough in a couple of weeks I will have to buy another set of lights, I wanted to buy a fixture and 6 T5's but the only place in town wants $200 for the set up and I don't have that kind of cash on hand and I think its a bit pricy at that amount. I did get a double T8 fixture just to keep my overwintered plants going I should at least get one more of them to help out.
I dropped buy your Photobucket site, to look at your plants and pods, but I see you have it passworded thats good for you that way no one comes and pirats your photo's. I had a few questions about some of the plants you were growing this year, but I'll PM you about them. Well my friend I hope you are doing OK and that your family is well, here next month I have to take a trip to Little Rock AR. It seems that the want to run a few test and try out a new drug on me. At this point I'm ready to move to Colorado and buy me some good medical Pot to make me feel good so I can cut back on the Morphine.
Well take care here's hoping the weather
