When I was a kid, we used to put hard-boiled eggs in the juice left over from pickled beets. They would turn purple, just like a beet. After a few days (week?), they were really tasty. The funny thing is I HATE pickled beets, lol.

One of my favorite gifts to make is candied ginger.. from Hell! We share it with the whole family, and a few other brave souls. They last forever in the fridge.
