Well hello there boys and girls.

I thought it would be fun to involve our kids in a seed contest.

I have fifty different seeds in my collection. Time to share.

Here is what I have in mind:

Three categories:

Age 3 - 11 year olds

Age 12 - 17 year olds

Age 18 - 100 year olds

One prize of ten seed packets per category.

Winner of youngest category gets first pick.
Mid age range gets second pick.
Elders get third pick.

I want the younguns to score.

I want to see drawings, scetches, paintings. Things you would post on the fridge.

Entries must include proof. A reference to THP WILL BE FINE or the kid holding up the pic.

Contest ends midnight March 6th PST. I will judge Saturday March 7th.

I've seen photo contests but can't remember drawing/artwork ones.
Only ones for hot sauce labels or whatever.

Nice seed selection too.
 
Round up the kiddos and teach them to grow peppers. Their artwork could win them seeds.

I thought this would be appropriate for a plant forum!  My daughter Phaelan loves growing stuff, but has not started with peppers yet.  She would love to pick out a seed and grow it with Daddy though.  Sorry, no pick of her holding it.  We are protective about posting her pictures on the internet.  There are a lot of weirdos out there.  She is 7.

     Wow! My wife (plant pathologist) and I (certified arborist) are impressed by her knowledge of plant anatomy. Better than most folks on this forum!
     I got extra excited when I thought she was trying to spell "phloem". Then I realized she was just signing her piece with her name.
 
 
edit: I love looking at the artwork of little kids. Is that UFO abducting that camel?

I agree, to be honest I don't know plant anatomy.  Montessori schools rock!  She is constantly teaching me things, lol.
 
The UFO is actually a snake... A flying snake...  And she didn't just make this up.  She described it to me in detail when I just asked her what it was.  She described how it flattened itself out to make a wing so it could glide.  Another piece of knowledge I knew nothing about...

You can't tell me their is no pictures stuck to your fridge. It could earn you and your youngun some choice seeds. Post them up folks.
