That S Purpurea? Why is it red? Mine only grows small green pitchers, and is in a 2.5/2.5/4 deep pot, does it need more room? I put it in more sun(15hour instead of 4-5), and it's growing a new one now, but I can't tell if it's gonna be red or green. Got it with one red though.onefowl1 said:Well I am afraid one of my plants munched it as next to the plant is a large saucer holding three pitcher plants all of which are big enough to consume a bug bigger then it was.
The S purpurea is red in full sun and I also have a green form and one that is more purple on the lip. The other two in the pic here are a purpurea x flava and a S flava.cruzzfish said:That S Purpurea? Why is it red? Edit: I don't expect that. Katydids don't like to drink nectar as much as just eat the flower, so I doubt it would crawl in. that and I have katydid that lives in a nepenthes that it chewed the roof off of, jumping back out whenever it damn pleases. Doesn't eat the plant itself though, so I couldn't care less.
Getting a .flava soon as I can. Need to set up a bog pot for it first.onefowl1 said:The S purpurea is red in full sun and I also have a green form and one that is more purple on the lip. The other two in the pic here are a purpurea x flava and a S flava.
