I'm late to the party as usual. I too have noticed quite a bit of variance in my pods. I have pods that look like the variety RedSkull posted. Plus some of mine are red as was mentioned also. I will pay closer attention to and make notes of the differences. I have a row of them in the ground.
Well the purple pepper has turned red but I'm going to let it go a lil longer to see if it changes again...I still like the looks of it so its a grow out for next year for sure
