Alrighty folks! It's almost plant out time and that means that my basement and lights are going to be freed up for some crossing projects through the summer.

I have 4 DWC buckets available for growing peppers indoors all summer. (not to mention racks for seedling growout)
2 spots are already taken by White Fatalii and CGN-21500.

These Plants will be the Base for all my other crosses. Meaning that I will use pollen from plants that are outdoors in the rest of my collection crossed with these. These will be tagged and harvested and grown out in the basement to choose phenos. I'm planning on going for taste more than heat.

Plants to choose from

My biggest focus will be crossing the White Fatalii with CGN-21500 but will do plenty of other crosses with them as well.

Here is my entire grow list and potential candidates to be crossed with my final choices (hope that makes sense)

Y'all are more than welcome to offer suggestions as to what you would like to see crossed with what as well. I'm sure I will be sharing seeds with most of you at some point (prolly F2? maybe some F1's)

Just saw the vid on the Omni Bonnet pod test. What's your goal with that cross? Bonnet shape with the Omnicolor coloring?

That's exactly what i'm hoping for. I probably would of had better luck if I pollinated a bonnet with the omni color pollen instead of other way around.

I'm guessing i'm going to end up with mostly elongated pods in f2.

That would be f**king SICK! :metal:

That would be very sick indeed. Does switching the 'father' and 'mother' of the cross make that much of a difference? I would've guessed not, based on what I've learned in school. But that was just very basic genetics, so I wouldn't be able to tell for sure.

From what i've learned no but from what I've experienced so far mother traits seem to be pretty prominent in shape.

Interesting. I crossed a Lemon Drop with a Brazilian Starfish both ways this year so I could see if there's a difference. Can't wait to find out.

Sounds like a good cross

All looking good.

My front is still under lights, mostly in Jiffys, but a few now getting their feet into solo cups. The season for hardening off is in the next few weeks.
Depending on growth, I should have fruit by January, probably late December. So if any interesting new phenos crop up, I should be able to get seeds away in time for the northern sowings.

I've finished sowing, and had very good rates on most of the crosses,  8/8 on 7pot Burg X CGN21500 and on Devil's Prick, 6/9 on El Scorp, but only 4/12 on Painapple, although it could possibly become 6/12, but doubt it. All were done the same, and my overall average rate is 9/10, so I think its more genetic than conditional.
Just thought you might be interested.

Keep up the good stuff, hopefully I get some action down under!

Sweet, thanks for the update. Lower germination rates can probably be expected on Baccatum x chinese but glad some germinated at least.

I finally got  a ripe pod on the larger Aji amarillo x Caribbean red habanero. Hard to tell which one I like more. Orange has barely any heat and red is ridiculously small for the cross.

Hey man if you want me to grow a few more this  year let me know, I have a bunch of seedlings, but I have put aside about 40 small growbags purely for your crosses.

Yea will do, I got some seeds from el scorponero drying now, will get some d3 goat drying real soon too. Been a pretty bad year for me. most my plants are taking forever to ripen. Not sure what the deal is. One the D3 goat f3's  you sent me has huge pods and one is just starting to ripen. I can't wait to try that one.

Looks all good to me Michael and I'd say you have had some nice hauls. Your El Scorpanero been chucking out some awesome phenos. The orange stands out to me. Painapple looks a firey pod and so much like a tobasco.
Great work all round and superb growing on your Goat. Lovely size pods. Be proud.

Awesome man sounds good. Looking forward to it.

Yeah if I get the seeds by late October I still should be able to get some ripe pods to you about same time as this year. Last year was the worst summer for us since I can remember, so hpoefully this summer will be better so I can get some seeds back to you sooner.
