That depends, are you planning on grinding them up?
If so I would cut them in half first, lower heats and longer run time produces better quality powder.

here is what i am going to do. i have been saving hot lemons but don't have enough to fill the dehydrator, so as peppers become ripe i store them in the freezer. first, i slice the peppers in half and deseed them then toss them into the freezer, in freezer bags. my plan is to cool thaw them, in the fridge, on a paper towel to aborb moisture. then i will put them into the dehydrator once clear of any freezer moisture.

Just recieved my Nesco FD-80 Dehydrator. Got a bunch of hot peppers in/on all 4 trays. I'm trying them at about 140 degrees for 15 hours. Will see what happens. Any suggestions?
