Devv-2018-Loving life in the dirt

Here we go again! ;)

This year will be a mix of in the dirt and container growing. Mostly in the dirt. I have some OW's going, 5 are cut back, 6 are pubes that still spend time outdoors as the weather allows. I have pH issues in the dirt, working on that, and hoping for some better results this season. One thing the wife and I decided is to NOT grow into the fall again. I was pulling plants the same weekend I started my seeds. I'm using 4 2 bulb T8's with 6,500K bulbs, and 1 4 bulb T5 with I believe 6,500K bulbs.

I planted extra early to beat the heat, hoping for pods before the temps go crazy. I may have to buy more lights...LOL

Pics sometime tomorrow ;)

can I just say that this is all so amusing and correct. Seems like devv will be onto something and a few of us will follow suit to see if we csn somehow get similar results. Watching what comes next is always suspenseful and fun. So let's go bud, where's the 2019 motivation we all so desperately need

Thanks all ;)

A lot going on here, one thing is a damaged nerve in my right arm. PC time hurts, and that's what I do for a living. So when at home I've been staying away from it. The good thing is it is feeling better...

Some pics:

These were taken Jan 15th..

I gave away many of these, gonna go a bit smaller this year with the Chinense. Mainly because of recent experiences with the climate here.

That's it for now...

Hey, Scott, glad to hear you are feeling better.
Pain hurts, no matter what  :(

¡Everything is really rolling there in Tejas, amigo mio!
All your plants and starts are healthy and rarin' to go.

The PdN x BMJ look just luscious. You've been taking
good care of them!

 Good luck and good weather for you, buddy!

Thanks all,

Keeping answers short. The last few years the heat has come in so fast I get few, very few Chinense. Last year was totally disappointing, I'm over due for the killer crops I used to get. The Baccatum, and annuums do quite well here, pubes eh?
I have a list here somewhere...

OK, here's what I started with:

~Aji Arnaucho
~Zapotec Jal
~Big Jim
~Poblano
~Bell
~Gochu (Rick)
~Aji Largo (Dale
~Peach Sugar Rush (Andy)
Jimmy Nardello
~MoA
~Aji Amarillo
~P. Dreadie's  (Gary)
JA Habs
~Carolina Reaper (saved seeds) 1 only came up.
~White Bhut (Ramon) or I saved some?
Red Bhut (ghost pepper)
~Bahamian goats
~Large orange thai
~PDN/Bonda purple (Paul)
PDN/white (Paul)

I'm sure I had a few that I missed on the list above.

The ~ indicates I have at least one that germed. The one MoA is so tiny it's ridiculous; but the first white bhut came up the same. It's doing well now. I bought the Red Bhuts (won't say where) 40 seeds=nada.

I still have seeds I'm trying to get going, if only to freshen up my neglected seed stock.

I have managed to run the broadfork though the garden twice so the garden is ready to go. Try that one with just the left arm...LOL

Thanks for the interest!

So sorry if I failed to mention someone who sent me seeds in the list above.

Hey Devv, your plants are already looking great!
You should seriously try out those aji pacae seeds I sent your way. They are more than twice the size pods as a regular aji amarillo, and super tasty! They require a long growing season, and I have pulled if off here in VA, but I think that with your long growing season, could reap some MAJORLY giant poddage.

Hi Dale!

I planted 4 of them and none popped :shh:  I've always had good germ rates, and this year for some reason the germ gods were not on my side.

Oh dang! Maybe it'll take a bit longer, or try a few more. IDK, I air dried those seeds from the ripest pods. I've grown them from out of seed stock from the previous year's harvest several times.
