color Do you have a preferred color pepper to grow?

Obviously!

but why purple?

- anthocyanin health benefits
- a quirky idiosyncratic color, in general
- fan of the Sacramento Kings
- I’ve found that there is still opportunity in purple pepper breeding:
+ purple mesocarp
+ heat and pH stable anthocyanins

annuum: green (not all, but some are perfect)
baccatum: orange (the red ones have a bit of a banal taste)
chinense: orange/yellow; some red (especially the superhot ones the first 3 seconds😝). I can't say purple because apart from the pimenta da Neyde the others are generally not ripe

next year I'll choose a mustard 🫡

for pubescens, frutescens and wild I still have to experiment better with colors other than red. I like the cappuccino chiltepin. this year I'll have yellow rocotos and also the mini olive, I can't wait! 🥳

recently, one or more people posted about how eating rocoto/pubescens green is disgusting.

so how can the olive rocoto be delicious? asking honestly. in this case it must be a matter of ripeness, not colour?
