Essegi 2014: 1st grow! Winter is coming.

Ok, today i decided to plant seeds.
First of all i want to thank who helped me in a thread and Sarge in particular that helped me to decide what to do! :D And Lonewolf from pepperfriends forum that has helped me a lot!

My list, all from Semillas, begin of september 2013:

ir2YmjGmgP7ma.jpg

  • Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Red
  • HP22B
  • Trinidad Douglah
  • Chocolate Bhut Jolokia
  • Fatalii
  • Fatalii White
  • Ferenc Tender
I've planted all but Ferenc Tender seeds, i'll plant them next month or in beginning of March. If i'll plant them.
11 per type.
I've treated seeds for 15 mins in a 3% bleach solution then i washed them very well in water before planting.
During that process i lost 1 seed of Trinidad Douglah and 3 of Chocoloate Bhut Jolokia (i suppose 2 of that lost seeds were too tiny anyway).

I've used plastic glasses with an hole:

The soil, specific for seeds (here before planting):
iPgVihUluA5J0.jpg

  • PH 6-7
  • C/N 25
  • 0,6 dS/m
  • organic ferthilizer
  • neutral peat 65% volume
  • organic carbon on dry content 35%
  • organic nitrogen on dry content 11%
  • fulvic and humc carbon on dry content 11%
hope the last 4 are translated accurately...

So 62 plants in total. In a 60*100 cm table
  • I plan to grow them all by myself until i have to change the vase.
  • Then i keep 2 per type (12 in total) of them in a 2,4 L vase each (top external diameter 18 cm). It's ok for my table. The rest goes to friends and relatives.
  • Then 1 per type in a 15-20 L vase each and 1 per type in ground. Or all in vases, but probably half on ground. Of course the last vases will go outside, i have a nice spot of 15 m lenght along my house walls that is without wind and quite hot.
Room, that is heating room:

That round thing in the left is warm... I've turned on radiator on right.

Here measured temps in center table:

iMr6TuzQdT2ux.jpg

Considering some parallax error is 27°C or little more (hoping that thing is accurate) which is 81°F
In the night will be lower but i think still above 20°C (68°F)
There's some natural light, hope that helps.
I have to do some funny things for the light, unfortunately at home have prohibited to use drying racks that would have been perfect.

I've a 60*3 watts LED light, nearly 10K lumens. I've found a good price and more than half was a birthday present from friends...

It's the round thing.
Well, no cats or dog allowed in growing room! Hope all goes well..

Do you need some fatalii seeds? I have isolated (puro) seed. Send me a PM if you want them.
Thanks a lot for the offer! Very appreciated! ;)
I decline it btw, that year i won't start other seeds aside Ferenc Tender. And i hope to buy plants of Fatalii, Rocoto, Scotch Bonnet and other superhots from a vendor i know, hoping they'll keep some show near enough to my home as they did in 2013.
There's the dad of a friend that have some fatalii seeds that should grow, maybe will have a spare plant....
In the worst case i'll try again with Fatalii next year.

Wow...37 days from the start with a Reaper......that's a long ferment.........hah
I like the group shot of your seedlings, they're all about the same size.
Off topic, but I just picked up a large bag of "00" flour...you know what that means...Pizza!
Can't wait to see that!

Btw, another hook in that hours, a Moruga Red:

37 days from start!
(Reaper form yesterday was 36, not 37, some wrong calcs).

Other 2!!!
From yesterday another Moruga:

I don't know how that went in border...

And today a choco bhut:

40 and 41 days from planting seeds!

I had problems with 2 plants that lost a leave each: soil was completely dry. I lowered watering too much. Corrected that, now the're good.

32 days for a Fatalii whit, nice!

Im Sitting at 0% germ for my fatalii's as well :( (its been 16 days) hoping to see somehting up when I return to work on Tuesday.

Rest of the plants appear to be coming along nicely!

This evening i planted 4 Ferenc Tender seeds. No treatment, just planted. i 'll give tomorrow 7 Ferenc Tender Seeds to a colleague at work.
Here the pot:

And i've begun to give away plant in excess.

About that Douglah (it's not the only plant with that issue):
i6ollq478pZDT.jpg

What's wrong with leaves?
Also i find plants in general are not so green and aren't growing so fast... To say, a choco bhut that wasn't the first plant sprouted is more green and with a faster grow....

Sry if it's a stupid question but in that period i'm fightning against non fully defined multy dimension arrays with recursion methods, so i have hard time to follow other threads and check advices from myself at the moment...

Btw it's 3 days that i stop artificial light from 10am to 4pm, there some light from window these days... (so its on from 6-8 to 10 and from 4 to 10-11)

At my side, i'm curious to see how will my friend father (the one i gave my exact seeds but fatalii white) growing will be...

Hi Essegi,

Really hard for me to see what your trying to explain in the plant above with the LED lights on.

Glad to see your'e still getting new babies to pop!

Thanks.
I mean that some leaves are folded in a not natural way... And some leaves are not green. And other plants have that too..
It seems the younger the plant, more green is.

See here with white light (i've tried to replicate it as more accurate as possible to reality):
iT7KDwd5PaAzn.jpg

Top left and bottom right  leaves are like folded, closed. Center left has not a perfect shape too and is green-yellow...

I had a few of the lighter colored plants do that (coloration) under the T5 lights. Possible too much water on the leaf curling.

I'll be interested in what others say.

I don't believe it's too much watering. I lowered watering too much and 2 plants had soil dried out and lost a leave... More or less all plants are equally watered.
I must say i haven't used lemon drops for a while, so water could be basic (unfortunately i have no means to measure PH).
I have a water softener, i don't know if it's a good or bad thing...
