Wow awesome!! How easy is it to get mustard seeds? I never even thought about homemade mustard before but always wanted something better than grey poop-on.

Our local Hippy Foods store carries yellow and brown mustard seeds in the bulk spices section.  It's pretty inexpensive.  They'll order 1 pound bags from Frontier brands and the 1 pound bag is about 2-3 cups.  1 bag yellow and 1 bag brown would probably make a quart of mustard.  With that size batch, you could totally make a milder one for your Lovely, and a spicier on for yourself.

I made this one last night taste like it's got Horseradish in it but I didn't add any,  Great for Roast Beef!
 
Mustard
 
4 Tablespoons Dry mustard powder
1 Tablespoon White Wine Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Flat beer
1 Clove Garlic
1 Teaspoon Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric
1 Tablespoon Olive oil 
 
It will open up your nostrils!

How long can I keep it?

 
CQ most mustards will last 1-3 years in the fridge.
