Fatknuckle Jeff's (Chorizo 857) 2020 GLOG

Been starting sprouts and seeds for next year.  I don't have an indoor lighting scheme, so things will live in the garage until March 2020.

Just seeing new sprouts today!

Overwintering for the crew and newbys complete.  High 60's to 70's today, rain tomorrow, freezing the next two days, so everybody into the garage.

Yesterday was completion of over-wintering, plus transplanting of new seedlings into secondary trays and/or small pots.  Started a few extra seeds for those which produced poorly or not at all.  Machu Piccu, Negro de Valle, Chilihuaga Negro, and some seeds from an abnormally large red cherry that looked almost like a red bell.  Digging soil out of pots for reuse in OW effort, and all of a sudden I dig up a hibernating lizard.  He was not happy.

Overwintering complete, plants moved into garage for the first significant winter blast for us down here in NC Florida.  3 days of freezing temps, best to protect the overwinters.  Younglings and sprouts are doing well also. This spring could get very busy.

Those look good, Jeff. If we could run enough
fiber optic cable from your grow to my garage,
I could have some sun, too

Had a couple of warm, sunny days this week, so set the young-lings out for a bit (2-hr).  Foliar watering with a mist bottle, but still managed to get some sun scald on most.  Pulled back inside in filtered light to see what happens.  Going to take much longer to harden these off.

February 22 update.  Things are going slow, but in the right direction.  I lost two over-winters, one red bhut, and the gold habanero/SB mystery plant.  Everything else seems to have turned the corner.  On the sprout side indoors, lost the brain strain variety I had.  Only one sprout.

Sorry, too quick on the trigger finger.  Pics:
Lemon Drop, Red pumpkin habanero with pods already.  Sprouts are getting there.  A bit of transplanting just because I am anxious.

Looks like your grow is off and running, Jeff!

Pods on the OWs already? Egads
Put them together for some sweet heat!

OW's starting to grow more, most with many flower buds.  Newbies are rooting well, graduating to progressively larger pots, getting hardier.  Partial sun will come for the garage band this weekend.

The overwinterds have been released, and the ring of fire has returned.  Lots of explosive growth, buds and pods, and of course the bugs aren't far away.  Aphids showing up, white flies next.  Gird thy loins!
