I love the flavor of the CCN Brazilian Starfish and production looks like it is going to be very good. Just wish i had more ripe pods by now.
 
MWCH MOA reds are tasty, production is excellent and i already got more ripe pods than i can use right now. Both plants are simply great in every way i could want.  My CCN MOA yellows from last year pale in comparison. They were much less tolerant of the usual summer temps here and production suffered terribly.
 
Ed's Aleppos are thriving too and currently loaded with green pods. Ive got maybe 15 ripe sofar. Plants are SUPER tolerant to my climate.
 
If i was forced to choose right now it would be MWCH MOA Reds!!! Got to love a healthy harvest before August.
 
I'll need at least another month, maybe two, to weigh in on this thread.

Several plants got a late start for a variety of reasons. I don't have any ripe pods yet from several of my new varieties.
 
Considering how late I started, I'll have to go with my 'Fooled You' jalapeño. It's the only *new* variety that has really produced anything harvestable. I've had a few green lemondrops, but I *really* thing those are gonna be way better ripe
 
Yeah too early to say for sure.... And my grow is too messed up for the results to matter much, either.

But, of plants that I've harvested pods from so far, I'd say Zapotec Jalapeño. The pods look and taste incredible, and the plants have done well and outgrown my other annuums, for the most part. I was searching for the one Jalapeño to rule them all, and I feel confident that I've found that in the Zapotec.
 
I tried Biker Billy this year along with my 2 standby jalas. Not impressed other than flavor. Plants are smaller, pods are smaller and far fewer of them. Both my Mucho Nacho and Chichimeca are covered in large pods. A few are even ripe. Biker Billy though are very tasty. Cant say they taste that much better than a Mucho Nacho to make it worth it to me.
 
I grew Andy Kings BOC from seeds acquired from whitehotpeppers (jcw10) and my one plant produced huge, gnarly peach pods that taste unbelievable and are the hottest thing Ive ever grown. Im guessing it was either unstable or crossed but Im over wintering that plant now and cant wait to see what it produces next season! Imagine Bahamian Goat but on steroids.

Also loved the White Ghost JW strain. Very impressive in every way.

Also.. Zapotec Jalapeño was great too and now forms the basis of my hot sauce.
 
Nagabrain Chocolate!  I expected it to be very temperamental and slow to fruit but I've kept it indoors and it has done really well, although it seems slightly reluctant to set a second crop.  Although the pods are very hot I do get some flavour before the burn hits and I'm planning to make some powder.  It's the star of my show this year.
 
I have two Nebru 7 plants which are both extremely productive and the pods are starting to ripen now, so that's my second "new to me" this year that I'd recommend.  I have one plant indoors and one outside and they are both OK.
 
N.B.  I am in England but we have had a good summer so far, hence chinenses outside doing OK.

I grew Andy's BOC this year. Plants grew big and strong, but they're just now starting to set pods... Can't wait to try them.
 
I haven't grown them, but I got one in an sfrb from randyp last year and BOC is probably my favorite bhut. It had the heat, but it also had flavor that wasn't just perfume.
On that note though, brown bbg is probably my favorite pepper (also from randy). Best tasting superhot I've had by far.

Not yet but i will next year. Then im done searching. I just picked a bunch of ripe Fresno today and 2 ripe Chichimeca jalas. I did grow Farmers Market this year. I LOVE the flavor but for heat and size, these Mucho Nacho are gunna be hard to beat. The Chichi is excellent too but the walls are thinner.

I have considered Fresno peppers before, what do they taste like?  Hotter than most jalapeno's? How is their productivity?
 
Slightly hotter than a jalapeno. Not quite as sweet when ripe. Walls are thinner. Production is excellent. When green i strongly prefer a jalapeno. I got 2 phenos from the seeds i saved from store bought pods. Both are very similar tasting when ripe. One pheno is lighter in color and more pointy. The other is about as dark as a green jalapeno and a little fatter than the other.

Funny you should mention big and strong, my Peach BOC (wait.. AKPBOC lol) was my biggest plant of the season, i did not top it and instead of growing like an umbrella it forked and kept growing upwards.
 
It's a bit early for me to tell what variety is going to be my favourite, a lot of my plants are still ripening their first round of true pods. So far Fatalii and Bahamian Goats have been great. I'll definitely be growing them again next year for sauce making.
 
From the very beginning, this plant has been a beaut! Great purple "overlay" color over the green foliage. Then it started producing pods. They are all EXACTLY the same pheno. The pods start a deep black color, the purple lightens up, then it lightens up to a green, then finally they're supposed to ripen to red. I couldn't wait any longer and wanted to see if the purple placenta presented itself for me. I'd say so.
