First Garden, 2009

Here's a few pics of my efforts this year. I grew a few plants in pots last year with moderate success so decided to try a little more this year. Have learned a ton....start earlier, don't plant so close and remember to label your plants so you know what's what before they start producing:-)

These are two of my Bhut Jolokia plants> got a late start on these and need to move them bigger pots. So far the weather this year has not been cooperating.

I'm also growing some Peruvian White Lightning Habanero and Hot Paper Lantern Habanero plants but since I didn't label anything I'm not sure what's what at this point. Here are four of the soon to be moved into bigger pots plants on my deck:

And here's a shot of my garden. It has 9 pepper plants (a couple of each of the 3 varieties I'm growing), 4 tomato plants, 8 green been plants and a squash plant. There's some basil in there somewhere too.

I feel like I'm doing ok for my first time out, definitely learned a lot this year thanks in part to this site. I'm going to take it to a whole new level next year...

Lookin good. Hopefully the weather starts cooperating. Those bhuts need along time to produce. Nice squash pic too. I kinda forgot what they looked like without leaf miner damage and powdery mildew, lol.

Thanks. And yep...it's a short growing season here as it is...mix in some July days with highs in the 60's and overcast and it gets even shorter. I am going to overwinter the bhuts and maybe a few others...might be tough to get much of a first year harvest from them.

Thanks...now I just need to figure out how to scale my pics down in size without having them look like crap:oops:

I use mediafire. It lets you do alot and with unlimited storage for pics.

everything looks so lush and green...hope you have a good season...plants look very healthy

Now that we're getting some decent weather things are starting to look better. For awhile there I was starting to wonder if I would harvest anything this year.

Very nice looking garden. I like the squash plant. Looks very healthy (well, all the plants do, really). Hope you have a great growing season. :)

Pulled 4 squash off that plant already...very tasty.

The peppers in the posts are really starting to take off. I re potted two that were in tiny pots and I swear they have grown a few inches in a few days.

Bring on the peppers!
